We've all forgotten about the previous 3 industrial revolutions and how people adapted to different demands for labor. The fourth industrial revolution will not eliminate the need for low-skill labor it will only change the distribution of those jobs. Just like the previous three industrial revolutions low-skill labor will need to adapt to differences in demand for labor. The good news is that thanks to automation, everything will be cheaper and so everybody, including the low-skill laborer, will have a higher standard of living. Because things are then cheaper, investors have more money to invest in new ideas which creates new markets and more demand for labor. This has happened three times previously in the USA, nothing will be different this time.

Side note, this same phenomenon of forgetting history is happening with the structure of the US government. The average American has no idea how the government is structured, how it's intended to be structured, or the arguments the founders had on how to structure it and how they wrote all this down. We're rehashing debates which have already happened as if they're new and scary.

Wonder why there are so few farm workers? Working a field used to be the most popular job in the world, what happened? Where did they go when there labor was no longer needed? Did they all starve and die because their job didn't exist any more? No, a new demand for their labor was created because more people had more money to invest in more things and the economy, standard of living, and demand for labor grew. Same thing happened with the electrification of society, same thing happened with automating manufacturing, same thing will happen with the information revolution.
