god I hate being deeply religious. I can't talk to anyone about this, I hate that I have to constantly know that I'm not worth heaven because I'm a fucking shit ass person who hates people.
There's always stories of how difficult it is to attain heaven and how great it is that it makes it seem impossible, especially for human trash like me. It makes me wonder why god in all his heavenly wisdom didn't make something reasonable between suffering in hell, eating ones own flesh and drinking magma and living eternally in unimaginable bliss.
Basically my thought process is; if you're not worth heaven, and you aren't lucky enough to be forgiven by god, then you suffer in hell, but heaven is practically impossible to get. I'm having a fucking breakdown here I how in the fuck am I supposed to deal?
Understand that religion is the biggest separation from man and heaven. Your post literally proves that. Separate yourself from religion then find yourself. I was an extreme Jesus freak. Now I truly understand life and know it isn’t Christianity.
Anthony Morris
Your religion is the cause of your suffering.
Ian Ross
What are the requirements for heaven?
Justin Turner
Religion feels like it is full of mental gymnastics in general to me.
Bentley Cooper
Knowing who you truly are, it’s literally that simple but not easy. I AM FUCKING DEAD ASS. Trust me please
Cooper Howard
Stop trying to make sense of old outdated book made to scare people into obeying rich people.
You only have one life. Don't waste it on religion when you could be free.
Justin Reyes
Read the bible user, I'm not about to tell you you believe a lie, but the bible never mention anything about "hell". This notion of hell we have came after Dante Alighieri's divene comedy. After the second resurrection when the sinner who didn't repent get to go against god it says they will die, not be put int hell after. Or you could have the other interpretation follow the catholic tradition in which there's a purgatory hell and paradise, if you aren't absolute scum you go to purgatory in order to pay for your sins. If you will believe in hell you need to buy into the whole catholic doctrine as well or else you are being inconsistent with your believes.
The most important thing is that the lord Jesud Christ died for your sins, and even tho you should do everything to not commit then you need to know if you truly repent and change you ways you WILL be forgiven. There's no luck in being forgiven by god, you already are, but you need to truly repent in order to "be forgiven" this is true across all christian traditions.
Joshua Young
when is it not? the heavier someone gets into religion, which includes atheism, the less anybody want to do with them, except their like kind. then it reverberates back and fouth in the echo chamber.
dude, no one knows what happens when we die. period. no atheist, no buddhist, no catholic knows precisely what happens when we die so why fret over someone that is inconceivable?
John Wood
God knows we cant be perfect and that we are only human. He just wants us to constantly strive to be better and to love others.
Joseph Richardson
Repent if you know Jesus Christ, listen to his words an follow the holy law in the bible. If you are a gentile then do as you think is truly right, truly moral and without flaw. Fight your "evil" desire and try to avoid harming others in your choices. and you should be allowed in to heave. At least according to my undertanding.
Romans 2:12-16 12 For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.
Asher Murphy
Dude, just let it go. You will feel so much better after you renounce religion.
When I finally decided I didn't believe in the Hebrew God, it was like a boulder rolled off my chest. I still remember that moment of release as a defining moment in my life. I was 14 years old.
Suddenly life was no longer so stressful, I no longer had to agonize over legends from old desert Jews four thousand years ago that made zero sense. I am free to live my life as I please and I don't have to worry what anybody's imaginary friend thinks about it.
This doesn't mean that you have a license to be shitty person, however. The great thing about not being religious is that ethics and morality still exist and have significance, even in a godless universe.
Camden Perez
You could accept that it's all bullshit and stop worrying. Or continuing to dispair, wasting the ~60 years you have to live before it's over, permanently.
Benjamin Ortiz
>if you're not worth heaven, and you aren't lucky enough to be forgiven by god, then you suffer in hell, but heaven is practically impossible to get. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of what the Bible is trying to teach you, which can be distilled into three core tenants. >Life is suffering. Bear your cross. >We are the architects of our own demise (this is Sin). >Compassion, love and the teachings of Jesus Christ are the keys to salvation (this is represented by Heaven). Everyone is guilty of sin. Not one person alive on earth is worth salvation or the Kingdom of Heaven, but everyone is worthy of forgiveness. And by acknowledging those traits which can destroy you, repenting, and following the teachings of Christ you can save your soul.
Some key things to remember >Sin is defined as traits or habits which can destroy you. >Salvation is both figurative and literal. You can avert crisis in your life by avoiding sin. No stealing, murdering etc >Your "Soul" is synonymous with the way you live your life.
Andrew Murphy
>shit ass person who hates people The first step is being self aware which you are. You can correct this at any time, just stop being so bitter. Forgiveness for ones sins and moving on to becoming a new person should be where you move from here
>Hey, you are having troubles? Why not just accept god into your life? it will make things work out for you. I was a godless person before and now I see the light of the lord, I'm finally happy and turned my life around you should do the same. Stop living a life of hedonism and morality, live for something meaningful.
Josiah Diaz
The problem is, you shouldn't fear Hell to the point of obsession. That is where modern Protestantism is in the wrong
No God know fear
Leo James
Meant to quote this one instead of the one in the other thread.
Eli Perry
Is this a serious reply, or a joke?
My life is great. I honestly don't really have any problems, and definitely have no use for religion.
Nicholas Harris
if you believe all this shit, you need to quit it or quit thinking about it. this is all stupid. maybe just get a job and focus on that. or go to a normal church, like presbyterians or something and just believe whatever they tell you. your religion sucks and there's no reason to be sucked into your brand of bs.
Well it's not nice having someone try and make you change your whole conception of reality because "THEY HAVE SEEN THE WAY". I find annoying when religious people do ti and i find it annoying when atheist do it. So I just change what you said to fit the other side. Nobody truly knows whats is out there, and some thing work for some people and some work for other. Calling into question the believes of others so rudely because you disagree is disgusting behavior. Op said he didn't want it done and you fags still do it.Is no better than the Christians telling you have no moral and should burn in hell for all the evil you do on your daily lives, AS you clearly yo not care for the good of other and only life in order to indulge you own desires.
That kind of dogma is disgusting no matter where it comes from.
John Cox
You should just talk to him lol... he's always around, knows perfectly what you're going to do, isn't going to help though. He made hell for you and I guess you're going there.
John Howard
>and just believe whatever they tell you.
Ok now that's weak.
Joshua Thomas
Yeah and maybe he should talk to Santa Claus and the Easter bunny too.
Anthony Collins
OP didn't say anything of the sort. He just said that he didn't want any replies from atheists. I am not an atheist. I'm not trying to change his mind; he is free to ignore my advice (although in my opinion he will continue to suffer under the burden of his vengeful God's judgement.)
This is an advice forum, and OP is asking for advice about his problem. If only Christians reply then it will just be an echo chamber.
Brandon Lewis
No, it’s not weak to recognize some problems are simply beyond you and move on. It’s weak to let yourself get sucked into mental masturbation over some dogma.
Jeremiah Brown
You are probably just a pessimistic person and you need to look towards a brighter future and live with god and you will work together.
Isaac Phillips
>christcuck dude your religion is just filled with massive holes in its logic, go find another religion your best bet is to read the bhagavad gita, mind you i think about these things 24/7, it sucks but you just gotta find something that makes the most sense
Austin Hall
>It makes me wonder why god in all his heavenly wisdom didn't make something reasonable between suffering in hell, eating ones own flesh and drinking magma and living eternally in unimaginable bliss. If you just stop assuming God is good, or at least that he's what you'd consider God (if you're one of those types) then it all makes sense.
