Good and bad have a degree of subjectivity to them. However, here's some things I like and find good.
Personally, I think art should make you feel. Happy, sad, repulsed, something, it should speak to the soul, to the heart. If it needs a guidebook and some guy with long hair and a short beard to explain what you should and should not be feeling, it's not really art.
veering into the pop a bit, but the old adventure/Conan covers and artwork were damn amazing. Honestly surprised a lot of them haven't been repurposed yet...
Classical works based on the divine comedy are typically pretty striking, but I think my favorite will be Dore's work, honestly. There arn't many who can capture such a range of emotion, and invoke it, and somehow make simple black and white more lurid then color.
Hoping to get Don Quixote with the Dore illustrations someday.
...I actually didn't know that, and will have to see if I can get that book. I knew there were cultural/regional leaning and forms, but I didn't realize the depths it went to I suppose. Thank you.
So many forms of entertainment and art are basically collapsing under their own weight, and already the green shoots of new, if not necessarily good or bad, growth is showing. If they'll actually sprout, or end up smothered under the greater, rotting body, who can say, however it's nice to know the human will and spirit isn't dead, just a bit buried.
The perception of depth on this is amazing, possibly the best i've seen

It's also funny to hear how we've evolved or progressed so far, that we as humans have developed so much from our humble beginnings.
We have better tools. We're still the same critters we've always been, we just have better tools and maybe some more understanding. However farts are still funny, men knock heads, girls gossip, and seeing someone better then you fall in the mud still makes people grin.
Maybe wandered a little bit in the fine details, and might seem different, but look at pictures of humans being humans through the ages, and it's generally the same thing. Encouraging, in a way.
