China didn't need Trumps rice. It was a gesture.

So basically china is pretending to play nice in the "trade war" by saying we can export rice to them because they know it's virtually impossible for there to be a possibility of the US having any competitiveness in the market. They get good press and lose nothing. Even the US rice stocks are not reacting.
