>It is the fault of Iraqi people. WELLL, sort of yes sort of no. 40 years of war fucked the country truly. A testament to Iraqi achievement would be looking at post colonial iraq that was a debilitated former empire state that turned to one of the strongest powers in the Middle East. So much so that the americans had to utilize a heavy smearing false propaganda campaign. 13 years of starving genocidal sanctions and a full unfair invasion on false pretenses to bring it down. Even their occupation was met with heavy resistance and stubbornness. >If Iraqis don't drop tribalism and become secular there Shame that was happening too but all that progress got wiped. Oh for sure the borders need to go. The best thing honestly for the country is for it to be split into 4. Iraqi Kurdistan, Shimal, Wasat and Jinub, No americans literally knew what they were doing man. They arent stupid. And they don't give a shit bout taxpayer money thats all MIC business aka good money they'd never let themselves lose money. Old gov had the know-how, new people need years to make it work like it did before, even with huge corruption. Baathists werent as corrupt as the government now. >I guess I'll get straight to the point. I want to know how does country x, with use of y person or party or resources can potentially destabilize the country again. You want my honest advice? Country will be heading into a long stable period. I am of full belief that the US achieved its goal of getting Iran into power as the regional hegemony. Besides the kurds possible chimpout and another ISIS resurgence in the North, nothing serious will happen. Hell, even the protests in Basra are controlled because there is no way in hell they would secede or revolt without Iran's say so (which it won't because Iran benefits from the stability in the area). AT MOST, turkey might start full on war with the Iraqi Kurds and annex the north of the country. But take my opinion with a grain of salt.
You talking about Saddam Hussein? Saddam was an American puppet. Americans wanted him there to keep communists out. Once they done with him, they tossed him out.
>13 years of starving genocidal sanctions I lived in those years, I still remember them as child in Iraq, top kek. The sanctions were aimed at Saddam's govt to stop it from buying arms and weapons. Sanctions are there so the govt use it's limited resources on food for the population. It was never aimed at the inocent civilians. Come on we live in the west, we know how westerners think. Saddam used that limited money to buy more arms while starving the people. Kek, Abu Udai aye.
>Even their occupation was met with heavy resistance and stubbornness. No such thing, Iraqis are back stabbers and ass kissers. They follow what their tribal leaders say. Some tribals weren't getting paid so they edged their people to fight US forces. Once America started paying them, things got calmer and better. But then Obama happened, he pulled troops out and Maliki fucked everything up.
Isaiah Brown
>Once they done with him, they tossed him out. After Soviet Union collapsed to be specific.
>You talking about Saddam Hussein? Saddam was an American puppet. He tried to be an American puppet. He got kicked out and betrayed by them. >The sanctions were aimed at Saddam's govt to stop it from buying arms and weapons. I'm guessing it was different in the Kurdish areas. In Baghdad and the south it was pretty harsh and alot of the people went hungry. Alot of children died early as well. I've got many personal stories from friends and family, >Saddam used that limited money to buy more arms while starving the people Probably true. >No such thing, Iraqis are back stabbers and ass kissers They follow what their tribal leaders say. Some tribals weren't getting paid so they edged their people to fight US forces. Once America started paying them, things got calmer and better. But then Obama happened, he pulled troops out and Maliki fucked everything up. Hm, well as to backstabbing I can point that out to the non organic sectarian aspect of the society which i already agreed with you needed Iraq to be split. As for ass kissing, probably to get more gibs and power from whoever gave it out so its not untrue. But there was alot of resistance from day one thats for sure. It was a bloody war.
Ian Jackson
I was born in Baghdad, and lived there during those times. They were tough hell ya. I remember eating chicken just once a year or so. Falafel and pickle sauce(amba, 3mba) all we had.
Lincoln Howard
Yea there you go. My mum was from an upper class family but she got anemic occasionally. Meat was very hard to get by. It was much worse for the poorer peoples. My dad suffered even more. >It was never aimed at the inocent civilians. The west knew what saddam would do anyways, if he did stockpile weapons. The sanctions were genocidal, inhumane and a crime against humanity.
how good is your arabic?
Dominic Gutierrez
I speak Arabic, I don't know Kurdish, kek. Family religious and dad wanted me to learn Arabic so I memorize the Quran.
Do you guys think that there is a deal between Assad and Turkey, that Turks defeat HTS in Idlib in order to get more influence north-east syria?
Jackson Diaz
Lol I dont think there is a deal.
Zachary Williams
>The west knew what saddam would do anyways, if he did stockpile weapons. The sanctions were genocidal, inhumane and a crime against humanity. They always are but the west is genocidal, inhumane and a crime against humanity in most things they do.
>Does /sg/ believe Assad didn't use chemical weapons? n-no
Nicholas Smith
US warships are planning to pass the Kerch Strait. The corresponding bill on the international operation against the aggression of Russia was submitted to the US parliament.
If either of you are interested in the discussion, read the report attached, I'm genuinely wondering what the explanation is.
Does /sg/ believe chemical weapons were used at all? If so does /sg/ believe it was from opposition or SAA?
Furthermore, if /sg/ believes it was opposition whats the explanation for the delivery methods described?
Samuel Harris
Part of eastern Turkey, should be given to Azerbaijan, because it is rightful Qara Qoyunlu claim
Levi Ortiz
if they were used and not faked like the probably were they were used as a false flag by the oppostion to try a get western support. its just old and irrelevant news now mate
I've been away from the internet and most technology for 10 days. Everything was dead quiet, heard about the withdrawal order and the SDF handing shit back to the SAA before leaving. Now I come back from my trip. Decide to see whats happening in old Syria and I see this...
What the fuck is happening? When did this start? Who is fighting who anymore? Are the jewnited states actually leaving? Are the Roaches still being roaches? Is the Blitz on Idlibistan going to happen?
Never interrupt your enemy when he/they are making a mistake. Let them kill each other, destroy each others resources and vehicles. Let them weaken their defence lines due to pulling men off the frontline to reinforce weakened villages and towns.
This time last year the SAA did a blitzkrieg and seized a massive chunk of FSA Idlib territory only being stopped on the outskirts of Saraqib and ordered to withdraw back to Tall Sultan and then withdraw back to Abu Duhur Airbase. The lines have been static since. Pic related for how it was on 1/1/18
Less things to hit when the liberation comes. I hope all this downtime since the cleansing of Southern Syria is so the SAA can rest, plan and refit.
>Let them weaken their defence lines due to pulling men off the frontline to reinforce weakened villages and towns. Exactly within the next week should be prime offensive time. >not implying that anyhting actually will happen though.
So, what’s in store in Syria for 2019? Will the rebels finally give up?
Ryder Watson
Don't worry guys, I haven't died. I just stopped posting here when Daraa ended and we underwent the gain drought. As I told Ebin, as soon as another offensive starts, I'll be back here and making new gifs.
>Some citizens of Manbij town began to settle their status with the Syrian government. twitter.com/Bosni94/status/1080859374229307393 turkroaches on suicide watch. jewbags on suicide watch. bolton on suicide watch. mattis on suicide watch
basically, yes. This is unironically the first 4/sg/ I've posted in for a few months. Yeah, that's me. I'll post here again when an offensive starts. kek. don't be sad, I'll never leave you again Hans. Here is the latest natemap, if it makes you feel better.
mate 4/sg/ has improved insanely tbqh. If you heard of the meghregirl apertheid, it actually worked pretty decently. It is disappointing that many still (you) a lot of the ,now only rarely, occuring cancer, but still. It has become tolerable again tbqh compared to maybe 2 months ago.
Ryder Murphy
>settle their status with the Syrian government. meaning?
Okay, that's good to hear. I was annoyed at all of those spam posts by Jordani and the Iraqi Australian (constant mutt and caveman wojaks), and the general low quality, but if what you say is true, then I'll be happy to come back here.
Meaning SAA is getting ready to enter Manbij and the Kurds are willing to cede. The only reason citizens in Manbij would be settling their status with the republic is if Manbij is changing hands.
