Charities sure as fuck ain't gonna do that. They just feed the poor trash, they ain't getting rid of them. Only charity I'd consider donating to is Project Prevention but they don't even use full physical sterilization.

Homeless are all insane junkies. If they weren't they wouldn't be homeless. Unless you've burnt every single bridge the way insane people do you'll have family or a friend with a floor to crash. The homeless should just die.

That is of course unless being a street person is your choice. Traveling around not having a permanent residence is a totally valid life choice. Nobody can come looking for you if you don't maintain a permanent residence

Not all charities are for the poor. Before they fucked up, did you ever donate to the boy scouts or something like that? Maybe put together a scholarship fund? Community events like a neighborhood bbq? Also political leaning?

For years I've listened to the Republicucks saying how public healthcare isn't necessary and private charities are enough and all this shit about how you don't need anything mandated by the govt because charities are enough and here you lot are basically saying that you give 0% to charity. I help out a local family with cash and make sure their kids have the clothes they need. Sometimes it’s more effective to make sure those in your close community are ok than give money to charities who wind up using it all in overheads

I was hoping this wasn't the case. I hear all this talk about improving living conditions or economy or whatever for the good of the people, but many unfortunately dont give a dime out of their dollar. Or even a penny.

Hate to agree with a lefty but I'm a bit disappointed myself. All the NatSocs talk about building the community and all the commies talk about helping the poor, but I see very few here actually do anything. Outside of the couple of places I donate and my org, few seem to actually care about anyone else.

I don't give much on a regular basis. But I might give out on special ocassions (food colleting campaigns). I don't have a proper economic power myself, yet.

I have been a volunteer for two years and a half in a youth programme. Nothing too "hardcore", but we helped some people out.

The ass is right. That's an excuse. It doesn't have to be much. Even just 1% of your income. Even if its buying a gift for your neighbor you thought theyd like. Not even a noble cause, just something that shows you're willing to put your money where your mouth is and show you give a damn

I think he was talking more about conservatives idea that private charities are superior to public welfare. They could be, definitely. But from what I'm seeing, I'm actually really disappointed.

I agree. Many large organizations are no good. But there are many ways to give, support a local cause, and build your community. Maybe pool funds, get some land, and grow a community garden with your neighbors.

I think you're missing the point. You dont have to donate to a big mega charity. Maybe fund a neighborhood bbq? New park for the area? Something to make your area better

Charity doesn't work. It can't. There's no incentive for a charitable NGO to solve social or economic problems, because then they have no reason to exist. Institutions commit suicide less often than individuals.

Only individual to individual charity is worthwhile, because there is no middle man to siphon it into pointlessness. But even then you take the risk that a stranger is conning you. Help your friends, neighbors, and family. Healthy families make healthy neighborhoods make healthy societies.
