Single bed is plenty of room. Will it look bad? Only if she has something against spooning. After having sex on a basement couch and the passenger seat of my car, a single bed is gonna be way more comfortable.

Double bed is a necessity for relationships tho. You need that space for cuddles, sleep, and wrestling. Also double bed signifies more mature man who's established. Car sex/sofa sex/single bed sex always tends to be students or guys living with friends - so, not as mature basically.
