Even if their bio is shitty, you can usually get something good from their pics (hey, that waterfall is pretty awesome, where is it? or something like that). If you can't even get anything from that, just throw out some random smalltalk bullshit, like "is your weekend going well" or "are you excited for the weekend."
The key is to break the ice and start a conversation. If the girl completely sucks at talking and can't keep a conversation going (which is ridiculously common), just drop it and stop wasting your time.
