It's fucked up. I'm in the wajong category myself, and have been trying to get out of it. Employers don't wanna take the risk, rightly so. I'm psychologically sound, not a violent threat at all, but some guys in the wajong are. The UWV can't really be bothered to help either. I've been proactively involved with them since June last year, and in 6 months I've had one job interview at a school, to become the sys admin's assistent. Didn't need to know anything, but I have worked with server software before, not that it was necessary or relevant for a job the rector and sys admin described as "hauling". Didn't get the job, but that's okay. More on the way right? That was in September. Not a single interview or hookup since then. I then moved to get into a programme where we'd get 3 weeks of training on how to apply for a job, and then three weeks of applying for a job with various representatives who'd come by. The idea is simple. Move in, learn what I can, and have job interviews for 4 hours straight. Unfortunately the UWV in all her wisdom decided to work with DWI and got a few niggers and a moroc in the dedicated autism group (where to be fair, I didn't belong either). On the 3rd week the two niggers who were present and the moroc were angry and voiced their disgust verily, for a good 10 minutes straight, in the middle of an exercise. I figured this can't work at all, ever. I did their job for them, told them to fuck off, and they did. Of course the moroc made a direct threat straight away. As a consequence the group was disbanded, the moroc kicked out, and I was more delicately "given personal coaching". We'll see how that holds up.
It's a long story that's irrelevant to millennial burnout but I just wanted to share it as an example of sheer gouvernment incompetence. They don't want anyone in the wajong to be employed. I work in a restaurant. I was born in 1978. When I started working there 21 years ago, learning the ropes, it wasa tough job, and everyobe busted their asses and had a good time. A few years ago (maybe 10, maybe a little more), we began to hire our first millenials. They nearly all put in minimal effort, spent an inordinate amount of time texting, sat down (!) when bored, and constantly complained about the job on the job. We did our best, trained some people up well, and some are still with us, but they came to us that way, with a mushy character. About 2 years ago, we started hiring Gen Z, without realizing it. We were amazed at how hard working these teens were; at how they didn't wait to be told what to do; at how they were willing to work long shifts and never complained. We have some of the youngest employees that we have ever had now. Morale is higher than ever. The job gets done _ well. We don't have to constantly mediate petty fights. I don't care what anyone says: the millenial/Gen Z divide is real.
