This is actually really interesting to me.
Just to give some background, I was semi active in high school, and served in the air force from 2003-2009. From late 2010-early 2012 I was hardcore into cardio and cross fit. After I'd stopped exercising in early 2012 I became basically sedentary, and my diet is obscenely poor, and this is how I've been since. So the problem I'm about to describe I didn't have when I was active, or in the few years afterwards.
Around 2013, after gaining a lot of weight, I attempted to start exercising to lose the weight, but found even after a light workout, or ANY kind of physical activity at all, like pulling weeds, 6 hours after, I'd get the worst migraine imaginable. I'd even experience something similar after having even 1 typical 5% ABV beer. Imagine the hangover you'd get after a night where you got absolutely obliterated drunk. I've recently discovered that drinking coffee before I exercise will greatly mitigate this, or if I go to the gym late at night before bed, and I hit that 6 hour window while I'm asleep.
I've determined this all is happening because of inflammation in the blood vessels in my brain. They contract during exercise, and dilate later on. That dilation causes a great deal of inflammation, thus the migraines. My auto immune system is too aggressive, and it's overcompensating for the simple contraction and expansion of my blood vessels.

To this day, I have to struggle and eat clean as fuck just to stay "fat." Obese children should be taken from their parents no different than children who are beaten, molested, or deprived and abused in any other way.

I had similar issues. My body is constantly inflamed. I didn't know it until I would get these weird booze hangovers where I didn't eat the night before. In this state I was relaxed, comfortable, very social, funny af. Full executive function. It goes away the instant I eat. I can literally feel the tension crawl up my arms and my brain tells me to retreat and be alone. I have made this effect last until 7pm when I ate. so no it wasn't I was drunk. Supplements did nothing. Fasting gives me ton of energy but its not the same effect.
Finally I got some tests done. Most of it checked out fine. Did an fmri. I have an inflamed Pituitary gland. Docs tell me they can not tell me why or any treatment.
I don't have a stable weight. I'm either losing or gaining weight 40 pound swings, fit to fat. changes with my moods.

I lift weight, don't eat carbs, and I tried the lap-band but it caused shooting pain up and down my arm by irritating the vagus nerve and I had to have it removed. Forgive me if I'm not leaping in eagerness to cut out part of my stomach and intestines after having such a bad experience. I know it is not "traditional" epigenetics, since epigenetics are most often refered to as post translational modifications on the DNA which potentially can be inherited.
But then again, how does DNA modifications function? = by altering the chromosome configuration (to some extend).

After reviewing the history of the absolute failure of doctors and US government re nutrition and weight management, Fung recs are Intermittent fasting and very low carb diet. There's literally no way to do if incorrectly. You basically eat when you're hungry. People starting out shouldn't do it everyday. There nothing wrong doing 16 8 every day. I've gotten used to one meal a day now, and in the past I used to be constantly tired. Now I have so much more energy my days extend deep into the night sometimes can't sleep.

You know what, I've asked for information and I got it and I am a little satisfied with the answer.
Also, I'm not doing Keto as the Perfect Health Diet is a moderate Paleo diet which allow stuff like potatoes and rice. It just prohibits most grains, and does recommend keto IF you have some kind of medical condition that may warrants it like migraine, seizure, and some others.
