I am trying to enter the world of wage slavery again.
p-please review my resume.
the anime girl is there to grab your attention, so ignore her please.
(she is only covering up the info about which foreign languages I speak; nothing too important.)

i can only judge on the presentation but looks good to me
I hate the format and all the stylistic shit. All the icons and shit. The multicolumn presentation. I hate it. So much.
Please tell me that isn't the norm in your industry. Because it's fucking trash and looks childish and unprofessional.
Also, going skills-focused rather than "education, past employment, skills" strikes me as telegraphing that your resume is super fucking weak.
Do you not have any publications? You have a master's in maths.
In the current workplace employers are more interested in accomplishment-based resumes.
For example, instead of saying you're familiar with C++, describe what you have programmed and how that programming helped your client/employer.
Have you ever saved a company money? Describe how you did that.
Have you ever worked closely with a team and helped that team complete an assignment well ahead of time? Describe your role in doing so.
You shouldn't only include what you CAN do, but what you have actually accomplished.
Also, a lot of higher-profile employers won't even consider your resume unless you have a cover letter, so be sure to include that as well.
I will say, from a purely aesthetic viewpoint, the resume looks good. I like the simple, uncluttered template. You just need to flesh out the content.
Good luck!
In terms of what I have accomplished with programming, the github and gitlab links I included will have a couple projects uploaded there to showcase. Is that not enough?
I have no prior experience in the industry.
ouch...
It's way too fancy like said. If your job is not design related, use black on a white background with text only. Icons are distracting from the stuff you want them to read.
Always start with relevant experience, research, internships, publications, side projects, something that shows you can accomplish things without handholding. If not that, education and school with degree and GPA.
Skills and technologies should be a list near the bottom. Don't bother explaining that shit. It exists to pass keyword scanners.
My goal when reading a resume is to start at the top and scan downward in one pass, reading only the stuff you draw attention to. Don't waste my time.
use some plain formatting, this is disgusting
I cant imagine more absurd CV even if i tried. It is called CV, not infographic.
I want to see a resume, not an IKEA flyer or a tumblr infographic.
Jesus Christ, you have a Master's in Mathematics and you don't have a fucking job?
Oh holy hell, it gets worse. Your previous jobs were in insurance sales and temp labor.
on that note, what does "master's in advanced mathematics" entail anyways? putting "advanced" seems kind of redundant
If it means anything, then that's just even more potential that's wasted.
All that education & training and you can't even write a resume. Sad.
Post girl standalone pls
Looks nice to me but. Not super familiar with what kinds of formats fly.
The format seems showy, I usually just go plainface text and white background, title bar and stuff. I don't think going crazy like that will help except with maybe artsy jobs??
Dont use the word familiar. PROFICIENT or synonyms, not repeating as many times as you repeat familiar. Also stay away from words like "very" they're basic
bump
Am I the only one who likes it?
But really two bachelors and a master? You should be Swimming in money. Thats what you call a academic work virgin i guess?
I would get rid of all that text, your employer is a programmer and will only want to see the anime girl.
>But really two bachelors and a master? You should be Swimming in money.
Not if you live in an eastern Euro shithole.
Im euro too. All my applying resulted in rejection. 20+ I think. I stopped caring.
The anime girl is in front of some of the text, I'd recommend putting her on a layer beneath the text and maybe on a fade.
Also what said post the image standalone please.
the girl is not on the original resume.
it's a Jow Forums special.
anyway, summing up the criticism I've received both here and elsewhere, I think I'm going to introduce a "projects" section before the "skill & technologies" one where I write short summaries for what programs/apps I made and invite the interviewer to go check out my gitlab/hub profile.
And I'll rewrite the descriptions to trim down the use of "familiar". (Opinions seem to be mixed on whether the more colourful items, like the icons, are good or bad, so I'm going to leave those be for now.)
If you have any other tips, please share.
