How is taxing the rich going to pay for healthcare for even 1 year? If you took 100% of Bill Gates's money (the richest guy in the world) it would pay for approximately 10% of LAST YEARS budget. What kind of 4D chess do you guys have planned?
I mean don't get me wrong. If some democrat could find the money and balance the budget I would be all over it, but it just defies all logic.
Thomas Parker
The trump tax cut ... which targeted the ultra rich and corporations, not working and middle class Americans ... was $5.5 trillion. (Trumps own number)
So just rolling that back would fund health care for 5 years.
Nathaniel Kelly
our current healthcare system literally costs more than universal would. Even the Koch brothers' study from last year proved this.
Where do all these retarded conservatives keep coming from who think that universal healthcare is impossible when it literally exists in every other country in the world?
Jace Bennett
I'm middle-class and i'm getting $2500 back this year that I didn't get last year.
Josiah Rodriguez
but a significant portion of our military budget goes to providing protection for those same countries.
Colton Foster
Is she a White Hispanic according to the US census?
Lol keep telling yourself that. The EUs combined militaries could easily deal with Russia. China might be an issue, granted, but China has never been a military threat to Europe and it doesn't look like it ever will be.
Literally nobody in Europe would have an issue with the Americans vastly cutting their military budget. If thats whats holding you back from having universal healthcare, go ahead. Cut it. Do it.
Ian Edwards
We also have a MASSIVE deficit. We can't afford the shit we have now. Believe me i'm in favor of cutting the military budget and pulling out of other countries, but we don't have the money for healthcare. usdebtclock.org/
Dylan Campbell
Are you trying to sound expertly retarded?
Charles Hernandez
Congrats. Apple got $100 billion. If they didn’t those tax revenue could have gone to easily doubling your tripping your tax break; or reducing your health costs, fixing your roads, schools...
$2500 is throwing scraps to you while the 1% gorge on campaign and caviar. And you’re happy with that. Money you actually earned by hard work, while the 1% roll their cash by sitting on investments.
Ayden Howard
Why don't you Yankee Doodle fuckwits just adopt a system similar to the NHS. Don't allow migrants to use it for free though, fucking health tourists are a real strain on the system over here.
David Gutierrez
Doesn't trumps tax cut expire in a few years for lower wage brackets?
It is your money. Government needs to be funded. If they’re not paying taxes, you are. Now, trump just increased the national debt by 10%, $2 trillion dollars, in two years. Who’s gonna pay for that down the road? Mexico? You think a guy that went bankrupt 6 times, avoids taxes, won’t release his form ... really cares? He’s got his.
Julian Wright
Tax 10,000 rich people and private corporations @ approximately 35-40% and you would cover healthcare, education, food, and housing right there.
There is absolutely no reason why they shouldn't be paying more back in than are being allowed to get away with now. Some of these people have the rigged system paying them taxes back FFS.
Military spending is like 10% of our budget. Welfare, Medicare / medicade, social security, and entitlement spending account for 65%. Cutting military spending by half would be a drop in the bucket, you dumbass kraut
I'm not happy about it. He's increased the deficit by the same amount obummer did. They're both made retarded decisions financially. I'm hoping to God we get a fiscally conservative government next go around and universal healthcare is in the wrong direction.
Levi Gomez
Stop.Posting.This.Dumb.Cunt shills.

So you’ll fuck me over. My salary went up, taxes went down and started getting bonuses. I’m not rich and I work my ass off for every penny I earn. I don’t deserve to be forced to pay for others. This is why I hate democrats. They always come for me.
Blake Howard
>How is taxing the rich going to pay for healthcare for even 1 year? If you took 100% of Bill Gates's money You implement a Progressive tax system which affects capital gains as well, you raise taxes to be higher, you remove loopholes for allowing tax evasion (if you send your money to the Caymen islands you go to Prison). And you cut back on the Military spending. Now stop repeating Ted Cruz level shit.
Lucas Phillips

Michael Edwards
You're not paying attention. The total wealth (assets and all) of the richest guy in the world is 10% of the healthcare cost for last year. I'm not talking about offshore accounts, or money stuffed under his mattress. His complete net-worth worldwide.
If we taxed the top 1% 100% of their money, it would pay for healthcare for 3 years. Of course we would all be jobless at the end of that 3 years.
>kek National socialist on Pol yeah they're everywhere.
Jack Lopez
The current healthcare system is designed to please donors from insurance and pharma companies. No policy that might actually benefit us will not be implemented, because donors will just buy off Congress.
Connor Rivera
More debt exists than money supply. Our currency is loaned into existence with interest by a private entity. We can't pay it off by tightening our belts. The only way to fix it is to liquidate the Fed. That said, we still shouldn't pay for ungrateful shitholers' healthcare.
Dylan Evans
You’re right, health care is a huge part of the budget, almost 30%, a trillion dollars. And American health care costs are double per capita than other industrialized nation’s universal health care systems. Adopting a single payer universal care system would save 500 billion a year, every year ... simply by eliminating bureaucratic paperwork, profit gouging, etc. You could balance the budget instantly and eliminate the national debt in a generation.
Think of it this way .. everytime you go to a doctor, pay a premium, hand over money for copayment ... you’re giving some multimillionaire CEO, and their Wall Street investors, some of your hard earned cash. For nothing. It’s not going to your care, or doc, or anything other than corporate greed. No other first world country, nevermind 2nd an 3rd world, does this.
Hudson Sullivan
The USG is literally prohibited from negotiating drug prices because donors paid Congress to bad Medicare/Medicaid from doing so as it might reduce prices.
Isaac Phillips
>Doesn't trumps tax cut expire in a few years for lower wage brackets? Of course some ignored trips here but yes they expire ten years after the implementation of the tax bill (meaning if you make under 80k or so a year you're tax cut as a sunset provision to end up raising you're taxes). >If we taxed the top 1% 100% of their money, it would pay for healthcare for 3 years. Where is this 100 percent taxation coming from? i already told you, you cut spending on the Military, you do increase taxes (while still lowering the cost of Healthcare), you ban off shore accounts stated to hold over a Trillion dollars etc. >Of course we would all be jobless at the end of that 3 years. If you want to talk about being jobless all of the good Union jobs which were shipped to China because you can pay Workers less there but not even Bernie Sanders says to tax People 100 percent of their income.
Nathan Hall

>You could balance the budget instantly and eliminate the national debt in a generation The National debt is here to stay, so it is not about elimination of it (there is still debt from the American Revolution) but not adding too much more to it. >No other first world country, nevermind 2nd an 3rd world, does this. I heard in Europe Co-pays are alot cheaper (it was reported that some group only pays 10 dollars as a co-pay for a Doctors visit compared to America where it can be higher.
Jose Bailey
I'm not talking about taxing Bill Gates. I'm saying that if we robbed him blind and threw him out on the streets we wouldn't have enough money to pay for 1 year of our current healthcare system. The idea of "taxing the rich" wont work. There isn't enough money among the rich for even a 99% tax. 100% of the cash for the top 1% of all privately held wealth would pay for 3 years of our healthcare. Then poof everything is gone.
Sebastian Anderson
Everyone is right. Universal health care isn’t free. Other counties pay though their taxes. Canadians pay through their taxes. Guess what? Most Canadians now pay less tax than Americans ... and they get their Health care. (See link below)
Why? Single payer is more efficient. HMOs and Hospitals aren’t arguing over payment and paperwork, everyone is in the insurance pool, etc.. this is all basic economics ... not capitalism or socialism; health care is an inelestic good. That’s what drives America’s health care costs; for profit companies charge what the market will bare, and when you’re sick you’ll pay as much as you can, and more ... because the economic option of not paying is pain and death.
Things have improved, but there was a point 4 or 5 years ago where you could have literally taken every penny from every billionaire in the country and it wouldn't have even balanced the budget that year, let alone paid for anything new.
Connor Long

>I'm saying that if we robbed him blind and threw him out on the streets Which is not an argument for lowering taxes on Bill Gates and increasing them is still a good idea so have a Progressive tax system. Of course not all the tax revenue will come from the really rich but the amount extra in taxes would be lower compared to the Healthcare bills (imagine paying 50 dollars a month in extra taxes to remove an 100 dollar Insurance payment for example).
Nathaniel Nguyen
And I don't disagree. There might be need to raise taxes on the rich. I havn't spent enough time studying that to determine if it's viable, but we don't have nearly enough money for universal healthcare regardless of how you tax people.
James Rivera
This is a planned slide thread, literal communist losers have an entire discord dedicated to trying to shill the Democrat Mutt. Don't reply seriously to any thread involving the Mutt.
Jose Diaz
>but we don't have nearly enough money for universal healthcare But we can send money to Israel, we can overbloat the Military, we can pay for the f-35 jet program. we can give tax breaks to the top 1 percent etc.
Zachary Brown
This is incorrect OP. The top 15% of US income earners recieve 50% of total US income, this is roughly 7 trillion dollars.
If you raise the taxes on JUST the top 15% to roughly 45% that is enough to cover the ENTIRE US healthcare costs.
Landon Flores

What the fuck does Apple's wealth have to do with me or you? Stop worrying about other people.
Why do you think the government gives a shit about you and wants to help you? There's tons of money to fix the roads and fix the schools, it all goes in some union contractor's pocket while they beg for more. At least with Apple people have the choice to give them money.
Ever since Obamacare my health insurance costs have skyrocketed while the coverage has plummeted, but I'm supposed to believe that only if the government gets more power and money it will be fixed?
Tyler Gomez
Yeah. Mixed systems work too. The point is universal coverage ... the universal insurance pool spreads risk, and economy of scale increases purchasing power. Lots of counties have a universal minimum standards of care (annual checkups, all emergency basic and critical care), but you have to pay for, say, cosmetic care or private rooms (and optional private insurance steps if you want that coverage). Our system is the worst of all worlds. There hundred of millions of dollars just to be saved if people got preventative, annual checkups ... fix shit before they get sick ... Instead of waiting until an emergency. And that’s not counting the wider economic costs to businesses that then have sicker workers...
Benjamin Taylor
Kick out all non whites and I will gladly pay for universal Healthcare

>raise the taxes on the rich >they pack their businesses and move abroad
What exactly do you expect to happen you socialist retards. If I was an enterpreneur in the US and government wanted to take 70% of my money I'd move to Mexico

Instead me , a perfectly healthy individual, will hardly go to the doctor. But I get to pay for Teyshawnes's insulin and Lafawnduh's weight loss surgery.
I have s better idea:get the government far away from the healthcare industry and let me pick my own plan and pay for my own care.
Caleb Smith
>What exactly do you expect to happen you socialist retards. We increase tariffs on their products if they are sending them to the United States as a means of protectionism, if they don't like 70 percent taxes well if they want to do business in the United States while moving to Mexico then they get 75 percent taxes via tariffs. >If I was an enterpreneur in the US and government wanted to take 70% of my money I'd move to Mexico Id remain in the United States because the market here.
Grayson Scott
You could never implement that because donors would just buy off Congress, though.
Daniel Howard
>But I get to pay for Teyshawnes's insulin and Lafawnduh's weight loss surgery Under an Insurance plan you would still be paying for the Insulin and weight loss would be an elective surgery (meaning her fat ass could wait months if not years for that to occur if it does at all under Medicare for all). >I have s better idea:get the government far away from the healthcare industry Okay then you would be fine with an a man without a license to practice surgery on you then? or to end up in debt because you cannot afford the Medical bills? >pick my own plan and pay for my own care. Healthcare is a pool so the other ones on the Plan are paying for you're care if you get sick (assuming they don't drop you in your Libertarian world).
Carter Sanders
>revenge Great economic strategy. Going to be amazing when we are our computers are 20 years behind other countries because they decided to sell somewhere else.

And when that union contractor gets paid 50k, what does he do? He goes to your store, in your town, and buys stuff. And he cuts a check to the church or charity in your community. And he builds his house, and send his kids to school, and saves his money and creates a life. That is what drives the economy and created America. And there’s hundreds of millions of those people.
The guy that’s got 500m? He buys a couple fast cars and a few nice houses and puts 450m in the markets. Some of it is used to capitalize companies (which few do these days because interests rates are so low). that money is now in a globalized investment market, and all that 450m isn’t going to Americans. It’s going to other international investors who profit. Money that could have gone to hard working Americans, to build America. There is no trickle down. You’ve been lied to and scammed, and if you think it doesn’t effect you you’re just not paying attention.
Oliver Long
You give everyone back the 30% of their income they are currently spending on insurance, HSAs, out of pocket expenses, deductibles, etc.
Oh look at that, suddenly everyone can afford a tiny tax increase because their income just skyrocketed overnight.
Russia could roll all the way to the atlantic without american intervention. Berlin would be sacked again since the bundeswehr isn't even combat ready.
Christopher Diaz
Do you think the market is just an empty suck-hole bank account? You get that it has a MASSIVE positive impact on our economy right?
Christian Jones
>our economy You mean the economy of Jamaica, Panama, the Isle of Man, and all those other places they put the money right?
Carter Peterson
>Going to be amazing when we are our computers are 20 years behind other countries because they decided to sell somewhere else. That would open up the free market of Computers and then someone else would go in it's place if People decided they did not want to sell Computers here. If they don't want to sell Computers to a population of over 325 million People then that is on them.
Caleb Morris
There’s actually lots seconomic study on this. You believe/think you won’t incur any economic cost, vs the actually probability of of incurring it. The statistical fact is that you say you will hardly go, but when sickness hits (an the probability is higher than you think) the cost is higher in the end. You end up paying more. And everyone else picks up the cost, of your risk. You, the healthy person ignorant of the risk .. actually turns out be the Teyshaw in the end
Yup. Economically, statistically: You’re the nigger.
Luke Clark
Money overrated too! talented people don't just do amazing things just so they can have a yacht and a fucking ferrari!

>We increase tariffs on their products if they are sending them to the United States as a means of protectionism, if they don't like 70 percent taxes well if they want to do business in the United States while moving to Mexico then they get 75 percent taxes via tariffs. So I could just vote for Trump and have an actually saner form of protectionism but not your gay social programs that are too expensive and will fail
Blake Martin
no it wouldn't, people would migrate to where good paying jobs were. That's why we have so many immigrants in the USA. Tons of intelligent doctors/lawyers/scientists that are foreigners. The shitty no-talent skill-less losers get left behind. India and China are on our heels if not more advanced. We are already on the edge of being passed over & pushing out great companies will leave us all oil-drilling manual-labor neanderthals.
Hudson Perez
>So I could just vote for Trump and have an actually saner form of protectionism No as Trump is a retard in implementation. That was a nice long roundabout way to say NOU, and doesn't make any sense
Justin Fisher
government red tape on medication is ridiculous. They'll let us eat chicken shit for a diet, but God forbid you put a pill in your mouth that didn't go through a 50 step process.
Jose White
>doesn’t make any sense.
It’s the basic economics of foreseeable risk. You’re pretty much a textbook example of why the uneducated and ignorant vote against their own economic interests, and why market capitalism is far from the rational efficient system the right-wing claims.

Did Companies all decide to leave in the 1940's to 1970's when Unions were strong or did they begin to leave during and after Reagan where both Reagan and Clinton opened up trade relations to where Companies could send our Jobs away to China. >No I wouldn't If you had a Healthcare plan that paid for it for other People then yes unless you get the Healthy People only plan in your free market (meaning any pre-existing condition is denied or charged more). >Yes? He can operate on me then. You do not choose what Doctor you get in real emergencies rather you get taken to the closet Hospital and preformed on by whoever. You do understand that almost all the brand pharmaceutical you buy here are manufactured overseas, and are sold in other countries at a lower cost (often under the same brand)?
