Carries haven't been a real threat since ww2 ,they are more for a nation's prestige since only rich countries can have them and a show of forces in peace time. In war time them carries would have to sit to far away from any battle to help or risk been sunk with 5k+ people lost in one go.
Subs are still the greatest threat to them but carrie destroying missiles that cost less than 1million per missile.
Old hulk of 1970s subs or older could just sit and wait .blaa carries .just a waste of money
