What is the best city / state to move to, get a job...

what is the best city / state to move to, get a job, and live in with a comfy life playing vidya and consuming media all day? affordable housing and low unemployment rates and a low percentage of minorities are a huge plus

blacklisted places:
-california
-washington
-alaska
-florida
-new mexico

Southeast probably. Cost of living isn't bad.

Check out the west coast of Michigan.

Nevada

>consuming media
the grave

based on the places you’ve blacklisted, you might like the Northeast or perhaps somewhere in non-America.

the shit about doing nothing but ((((consuming media)))) must be a lel depression joke, because you can do that anywhere so long as you have an average income, seeing how your external environment won’t change much about the inside of your apartment.

"southeast" is too vague, please be specific and give the name of a state / area / city
>Check out the west coast of Michigan.
ok
>fucking desert
>literally right next to commifornia
>only reason it exists is because las vegas
no thanks
>using echo chambers
>hijacking my thread with your stupid fear mongering DA JOOZ MEDYAAAA OMGG Jow Forums bullshit
i really hope you're 13 years old, but please, please stay in your containment board and your underground niche internet sub-communities
thank you for your suggestion on the northeast though, i doubt there's affordable housing and jobs there though

go back to thank you

fuck i forgot to add new york to my blacklist
also new york (blacklisted)

I give your reading comprehension and sense of humor a 3/10. your motivation to change and do something positive gets a 2/10. wherever you go, there you’ll be.

cost of living isn’t so dramatically different based on region that you wouldn’t be able to afford an apartment and eventually a house. you’d need a job, though.

connecticut

>I give your reading comprehension and sense of humor a 3/10.
do you think you're funny or something? you were obviously being unironic, there wasn't anything humorously natured in what you were saying

i really hope you're just trying to cover up being a Jow Forumstard who got loose from his containment chamber otherwise you actually are 13 years old judging by what you think is "humor"
>your motivation to change and do something positive gets a 2/10. wherever you go, there you’ll be.
literally what the fuck are you talking about? how does this relate to what i was discussing in the OP at all

and why do you think you're a judge at some talent show or something?
>cost of living isn’t so dramatically different based on region that you wouldn’t be able to afford an apartment and eventually a house
literally what are big cities

what are capital cities

what are in demand areas
>you’d need a job, though.
really? i had no idea, i thought people just went around unemployed

pic related is you

probably something thats like midwestern or some shit like that definetely a flyover since it sounds like you just want to be lazy and not pay a lot in rent.

im warning you now that cold weather or living hours and hours from the ocean is not preferred but you might not mind it since it sounds like you just want to sit inside all day.

I would look for places like an hour or so outside of a cheap city you like and just make sure the place is close to a bus stop or freeway if you drive. if I were you I would stick to somewhere along the coastal south, southwest, or northwest.

I would avoid new England or the northeast like a plague

>check bridgeport on zillow
>$1,000 a month for tiny little furnished apartment
>anything less is empty and unfurnished
>even the unfurnished ones start at around $750+
>check hartford
>cheapest furnished apartment i could find was $900 a mont
how is this affordable again?
>im warning you now that cold weather or living hours and hours from the ocean is not preferred
according to who? you?

i love the snow and cold weather (not blizzards arctic weather and snowstorms though) it's max /comfy/ and you get to wear wool sweaters and long pajamas at home and drink hot coco and wear hoodies and jackets outside

i hate the excessive humidity living close to oceans bring, by the time you've taken 20 steps outside your clothes are damp and you're drenched in sweat / water, it creeps up your asscrack and balls too
>you might not mind it since it sounds like you just want to sit inside all day.
yep
>I would look for places like an hour or so outside of a cheap city you like and just make sure the place is close to a bus stop or freeway if you drive
yeah no sheet that's why i made this thread so i could find out cities i might like
>somewhere along the coastal south, southwest, or northwest.
that's not vague at all
>I would avoid new England or the northeast like a plague
indeed, everyone should desu

okay then get a job and fuck off

The "flyover" states you talk about are a lot nicer and better quality of life than you are giving them credit for.

not to be racist or anything but youre a nigger

what do you want with that furnished apartment, a free car? a maid to suck your dick?

yes please stay out of the Northeast

OP, anons who live in CA/NY the reason that so many people who live on the coasts seem to take so much offense when someone else doesn't want that lifestyle is because they pay all their money toward rent. They overall live a poor quality of life, unless they're high earners so they have to find ways to look down on other places in the country to make themselves feel superior.

alright then be a snippy ass hole. I just tried to help you and dont even like you no ones going to want to be your roommate. I dont even want to be near you. I make a lot of money so I dont have to worry about being poor and im not an ugly freak so I dont have to hide inside all day

Most of America is McDonalds, automalls, and funeral homes. It’s better to be in a central hub where education, healthcare, and finances can be obtained.

dont even bother with retards like this. they aren't even smart enough to get a job besides mcdonalds anyway

Have you even lived in a mid-sized midwest city? Most jobs in these cities pay BETTER in respect to the cost of living vs salary to cost of living in large US cities.
If your definition of the entire US between the coasts is mcdonalds automalls and funeral homes, you're just not a very well traveled person.

lmfao dumb hick you work your ass off in a big city and then you can choose to retire in one of those garbage cities after and have more money than everyone

I'm a high earner in a big city on the coast. I've simply lived all over the country and hate people like you who have never left their city, yet think they're worldly because they live in a big city and eat some "(insert country)-infused food".

You’re absolutely right. But you don’t have McDonalds, funeral homes, and automalls once you stray from those cities? I always thought those things were integral parts of rural and suburban culture.

>okay then get a job and fuck off
i already have a job you idiot

god, i really hope you're just baiting, please fuck off this thread

thank you

bye
you can't stop me, i'll go wherever the fuck i please

but the northeast is shit anyways stay where you are nobody cares
do you think i didn't already know that?

either way, i wouldn't even want to live in the non-popular areas of cali / ny, they're literal shithole states
>alright then be a snippy ass hole. I just tried to help you and dont even like you no ones going to want to be your roommate. I dont even want to be near you. I make a lot of money so I dont have to worry about being poor and im not an ugly freak so I dont have to hide inside all day
ok

your "help" was shit

fuck off

goodbye

thank you

its because I can walk around and do shit and not walk across town in 20 minutes and stand around in a parking lot all day while you and earl drink beers

dude you're literally just being an ass hole and telling everyone to fuck off. why don't you look around on craigslist yourself if you think we're all wrong

the places I listed are literally where every poor shut in goes to and prefers to live in. you didn't tell use if you want to live close to a city or what weather you want or what

I’m so damaged by the loss of the American dream that I need Chipotle to not kill myself. Then you expect me to eat instead at a diner in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of old people...

4channers don’t deserve help, not until they stop using Jow Forums.

You likely have roommates, never traveled and can't afford a car. Just makes you feel better to make back handed remarks at people living outside of your city to make yourself feel better.

yea id rather live with roommates then have nothing outside I dont sit inside all day loser

Nice cope

ok OP here so i've been checking and cross referencing various ranking lists on google because of all the faggots baiting and trolling in the thread, what do you guys think about oklahoma city, oklahoma?
>fairly large city (over half a million people) but not too big
>unemployment under 4-5%
>$450 a month rent
>$300 a month for groceries cleaning stuff and whatnot
>30 day unlimited bus pass for $50
>total monthly living expenses there would be $800
>literally could live and still have money leftover on minimum wage at mcdonalds
>seems to have a good amount of jobs listed on monster, craigslist and indeed starting at at least $11 an hour
the temperature, humidity and black and hispanic population (25% combined) is a bit higher than my liking but for now this seems like the best option

I know a few people in oklahoma city and they seem quite happy.
I lived Kansas for a while and absolutely loved it. While I'm not there anymore, it was a great experience. I was near Kansas City, that's something to consider as well.

>I know a few people in oklahoma city and they seem quite happy.
sweet
>I lived Kansas for a while and absolutely loved it. While I'm not there anymore, it was a great experience. I was near Kansas City, that's something to consider as well.
really? i thought kansas was a redneck shithole or something

ok so kansas city and oklahoma city are the 2 top picks so far, anyone else have any other recommendations?

Check out Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tons of jobs, low standard of living, beaches without sharks.

>Look up common interview questions and figure out what you're going to say
Don't move to Topeka or small town Kansas. But Kansas city and the surrounding areas are extremely nice.

If you want more specific as far as the South is concerned the best answer is Texas. Just live outside any major city and you won't deal with minorities and you'll be close to a lot of work if you're willing to commute 20-30 miles. inb4 that's too far every day, it's a tax you pay for not living around niggers. The only downside is the heat. Just stay indoors 9 months out of the year...

In fact I'll do you one better. Move to Houston and get a job at Costco. You'll probably be set for life since you've set the bar kind of low honestly but hey you do you man. Do what makes you happy.

$800+ a month for a furnished apartment, doesn't look very affordable

ok

sorry i hate heat
>In fact I'll do you one better. Move to Houston and get a job at Costco.
i would if it weren't for the heat.

>t.adult
i am also "an adult" and i think other adults who like to parade around "being an adult" and or their age is retarded and gay

please never unironically refer to yourself as "an adult" again
>You'll probably be set for life since you've set the bar kind of low honestly but hey you do you man. Do what makes you happy
lol, all i need is internet, a desk, a computer, food, alcohol, a kitchen, a powerful A.C / heater, and a bathroom

anything else is unecessary

i honestly don't understand how, if you're single childless, debtless and not a drug addict, you could possibly blow a shit ton of money, like what the hell are you even supposed to do? all i do is vidya and media

even if you want to get laid on tinder you just get a bottle of cheap liquor at walmart and order some cheap pizza from little ceasars and watch pirated movies

like what are you supposed to spend your money on? fancy cars? insane rent in some stupid boomer community? you could still afford the latest iphone and macbook or whatever so it can't be those types of materials

Michigan is pretty cheap. Even in the burbs outside of Detroit you can find apartments from 400-600. My place is 600 in the inner city, decent neighborhood too. Of course, if you dont like blacks, the metro area is a better choice.

You are literally never going to find a place that meets all your requirements. You don't want to live on the west coast, in the Northeast, probably the south... That leaves the middle of the country. But there aren't a lot of jobs to be had in the middle of the country. So you're probably going to have to make some compromises somewhere.
