The Middle-east has always been decades ahead of Europe and it always will be.
From Mesopotamia, to Ancient-Egypt, Sumer Babylon, Persia and from Arabia to the Ottoman empire, the Middle-East was always a hub for advanced knowledge and science that produced metallurgy, science, Agriculture, writing, sailing, the wheel, chemistry, pharma, astronomy, law, alegeba, algor, calendar, maps, metrics and on and on.
When they were in the Islamic golden age, europeans were washing themselves with dirt in caves. The reason why the middle-east is shit today, is because they are yet again ahead of Europeans. Their current state is just the future state of the West.
