I’m the only member of my family left...

I’m the only member of my family left, my Dad and younger sister recently died in a car accident on the way home from a holiday they took together. I’m 19 I’ve inherited our family home it’s worth about £800,000 and also my dads life insurance is paying out which is around a million. I’ve also inherited the family stocks and shares portfolio which is substantial as well as my dads firm paying me his bonus and annual salary.

We had the funeral today, not many people came and now I’m just alone. I don’t have any friends at all I dropped out of school at 17 and have been messing around doing nothing at all since.

I can literally do or have anything and I’m just a bit lost as what to do.

Go to college. Get your GED/high school diploma and get a degree in a subject that interest you. Live your life to make your family proud

Go to college
Also find group therapy you shouldn’t try to take this on alone

Make a gofundme, tell them the story of no family but don't mention the money you enherited. Profit

This, and tell no one about what you have.

Sorry for your loss user.

That’s a pretty good idea thanks!

I’m tempted to go back to school just to meet people again. My Dads friend invited me up to London for a few weeks in September to see if I’d like to work in the city and shadow him for a year.

Do not tell people about the money, your so young you'll be taken advantage of in no time. I'm really sorry for your loss.

Already had this at the wake, was given quite a few business cards and told about property proposals...

Sorry about you loss. You have a lot of money and nobody close to you. There's predators our there that will use this to get close to you just for the money, either men or women. Stay safe. And just live our your life man. If I had your financial freedom I'd finally make my blacksmith shop.

That's so rude, the vultures can't even wait till your poor dad and sister were barrier. I'm so sorry man really, that's such shit. Just be careful with who you let know about your inheritance. I'd maybe go to tharepy too, just to help process this since you don't have friends or other family to talk to. Be really careful with the money, you don't want to get ripped off and wind up broke without anyone to help you. Wish I could give you a hug man, that shit has to be really hard. I am so sorry :(

get financial counseling, from your bank? the fund that managed your dad's stocks?
get at least intermediate knowledge of investing/assets/taxes before you use any of it (search on rebbit or whatver, doubt you get any legit advice on that on Jow Forums)
if it sounds too good to be true, it is

Go to school. You're one of the few kids who can go and actually pay for it. I'd capitalize off of that.
Feel better soon buddy :)

No uncles or aunts. Where's your mom.
I'm really sorry your alone. Don't kys.

I agree with what lots of other people said. Go back to school. It'll give you something to do and you might make some friends and feel less alone.

Don't let anyone tell you what to do with the money. Even if you're talking to someone from a bank, be careful and really research everything.

I'm sorry for your loss and that there's nobody there to support you in all of this, but it will get better for you one day.

f :(

Well you can spend all of your money on weed and be high for the rest of your life without having to worry about anything

You reverse the perspective of power by returning to pleasure the energies stolen by work and constraint. As sure as work kills pleasure, pleasure kills work.

If you are not resigned to dying of disgust, then you will be happy enough to rid your life of the odious need to work, to give orders and obey them, to lose and to win, to keep up appearances, and to judge and be judged.

fucking amazing, and my family will not fucking die ever, not that theyd leave me with anything but seriously

and you little shit will have golddiggers flock to you becasue aww poor baby lost his family

First, you don't NEED to feel pressured to do anything. Yet. You have enough to live off of for a long long while without you having to do anything. I would first come to terms with just happened, seek a therapist, or just do small things here and there that make you happy. Your family just died. If you wanna cry for days on end, do it. If you wanna spend a ton of money on ice cream or go to a theme park just to forget it all for a while, do it. Reach out and meet people too, if you can. But keep in mind that all that money will cause you to find some really fake people.

When you're ready, do something productive. Go to college, like other anons said. Or volunteer somewhere. Explore the world, but be careful about what you spend. I can't imagine how lonely you must feel right now. Would getting a dog or cat help? Not sure if you're into pets, but getting a rescue can make all the difference in the world and give you purpose.

Also I second the user who suggested financial counselling. Don't let anyone take advantage of you right now in your time of need.

You are more prone to make mistakes if any of the above is your emotions, go solve them first before making big choices
