Does anybody else here find it weird how the far right fell apart so quickly? Of course, everybody with half a brain new it wouldn't last. it seems that fascist-inspired movements have some sort of built-in 'self destruct' mechanism that can't be overridden. But what's weird about how this online, Jow Forums-inspired manifestation of the far right came to an end is how passive it was. Many people in the right worried that they'd meet their end because of deplatforming or political persecution or something like that--and granted that did play a role--but it wasn't ultimately that that did the whole thing in. There are still tons of far right accounts up and able to post on social media. What actually happened was that the people in the movement just got bored and moved on to other things. The ecelebs mostly jumped ship to Keemstar-esque internet gossip stuff, while the rank and file seem to have gotten pleasantly lost in a labyrinth of Pagan larping and Christian hermeticism. However, both the ecelebs and the rank and file right share the commonality of escapism: basically they weren't up to the challenge of fighting for institutional power and on some level 'got distracted' with these side projects not accidentally but on purpose.
I don't entirely blame you guys. Yeah, the far left's lock on power is pretty solid, and you're ultimately right that you couldn't win. But I think you DID stand a shot of wrestling the office of 'official opposition' away from Peterson, Rubin and co. It sucks you couldn't even get that far because honestly you were a lot funnier than those guys and their particular brand of 'rebellion' feels sort of superficial compared to yours. Ah well. It's all in the past now. At least we've got Donga vs. Warski to look forward to right?
