It's childish but caricaturization has been a central aspect of any form of cartoon comedy and has been manifested in emphatic artistic depictions of individuals or people for as long as we've had visual forms of art. There are 2000 year old depictions and carvings of horn nosed jews rubbing their hands, certain things even if only slightly true tend to become an inseparable component of any stereotyped character, especially once it becomes a meme of sorts.

Trump has slightly smaller hands than normal relative to his stature and as such this is inevitably going to be exaggerated in his animated depictions. Like it or not you can't deny the fact that his hair looks kind of strange and his skin has a slight orange hue, it's fair to expect these things to be used against him, it's basic human behaviour.

That being said it's probably foolish to try and analyze the ""humour"" of Seth MacFarlane on an intellectual level
