I've never met anyone in real life who has espoused any beliefs or philosophies associated with the political left. I've never heard a flesh-and-blood person defend socialism, immigration, Shillary, gay or trans rights, feminist ideology, nor anything else of the sort. I've never heard anyone use terms like "privilege" in the context I'm sure we're all familiar with. I've even met people who have never heard of #metoo. I don't use any social media other than anonymous forums, and don't watch television either, and I still heard about #metoo as soon as it became a thing. Moreover, and this might not be related but bears mentioning anyway, nobody I know personally seems to be familiar with terms like "redpill", "MGTOW", "incel", etc, not even younger people. Many people I work with occasionally say things that would fit in here on /pol. In my workplace, we openly make fun of immigrant customers and tell demeaning jokes about women and homosexuals and so forth all day long. If I came in with a swastika tattooed on my forehead, they would probably think it was awesome.
Some background: I live in a shitty East coast heroin-ravaged American city surrounded by rural countryside. My job could be described as blue collar. I have no contact with "educated" people, nor do I travel to other cities that are known to be liberal. I also have no social life. These facts alone might explain my observations. Nonetheless, I still find it odd that the sociological phenomena I observe online doesn't appear to correspond to real life at all. After spending years lurking on Jow Forums, reddit, and some other popular online forums, one would think America is literally crawling with militant faggots trying eradicate white people and men and bully everyone into believing all sorts of ridiculous things with the government's backing, but I just don't see it.
