Turkey has a lot of flaws but they need a strong police because the population is strong. It's like a tamed wild best.

Authority is practically non-existent in the civilized western world (America excluded), we mostly just operate on a trust system. When shit actually goes down here, the police are mysteriously absent. Like if your car gets stolen in Canada the police pretty much tell you you're fucked, buy a new car because that shit is gone forever. Even suspects that are caught on camera more often than not are not even pursued unless the crime is really serious, just accept you got fucked and move on. It's a terrible system when you introduce elements that are used to authority being brutal, they just let loose and do whatever they want because to them our society is practically anarchy.
