There's a power struggle going on in San Francisco's Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club. It's one of America's oldest LGBT political organizations, it was founded by Harvey Milk back in the 70s as a far left LGBT political action/activism organization.
A contingent of newer (largely trans, female, people of color) members is effectively attempting a hostile takeover of the club. They view white people, cis people, and men (including gay men) as enemies of progress and part of the patriarchy. The club has traditionally been mostly gay men, as most LGBT groups have been.
The political alignment of the club is democratic socialist and very gay, and pretty into idpol, so the existing cis/gay male leadership has struggled to combat this takeover since they drink a lot of the same kool aid. But as the disputes have grown more personal and radical, even they are getting sick of the shit.
The contingent of trans, female, POC largely views all white people as a problem, and gay men as a problem... all a part of white supremacy and the patriarchy that holds back progress.
This whole thing is an absolute dramatic (really gay) shitshow.

The issue is G and T are sort of inseperable. especially since a big percentage of T were formerly G. it's slight infighting but it's unlikely that anything substantial will emerge.
What binds them together is the whole safety in numbers thing. They sense animosity from "breeders" and so even though most G dislike T for their bad optics, they still stick together.
Also T is generally a weak group, they know they need G in order to stay safe.

It's been my observation that a lot of the LGBT movement is made up of people who crave attention and want to be seen as edgy.
So when it first started becoming a major public issue about a decade ago, those who were openly "out" were something unique, and people paid attention to them.
Now, as homosexuality has been normalized, they're no longer anything special, so they have to find new forms of deviancy to get attention.
