A pitbull is no different than a gun imo. It's completely up to the owner to raise the dog correctly. A lot of people don't have the ability to care for such a sensitive dog. Especially when the dog is favored by mostly blacks that are already lacking in that department. They are extremely powerful and loyal dogs and in the right hands make some of the best pets and means for home defense.

Proper care for a dog means proper breeding, and the bloodline of pitbulls is in serious trouble due to such irresponsible breeding methods taken on by people with low intelligence and low empathy. It is not about the responsibility of the dog, it its the responsibility of society to police dangerous animals. And such that those within the breed who showcase signs of the flip out, berserk gene so popular among said low I and E owners, must be culled from the bloodline in order to ensure a healthy breed of pitbull. Sadly, too many people who do not breed dogs get involved due to their feelings, not understanding that their feelings are going to get themselves, or someone around them or their dog, hurt.

Perhaps is someone with a lot of space, time and money were to look after the animals that should never have been bred, and sterilized them so that their traits do not pass on, that would be a viable alternative. However more often then not these people are not educated enough to handle such animals, nor are they well off enough to take care of them properly, and such affairs usually end in tragedy.
