Ignoring the rest of the dossier won’t make it go away.

A report published by Buzzfeed claims President Trump ordered his lawyer Michael Cohen to lie during a congressional testimony about links between the Trump Organization and Russian authorities regarding a Trump Tower Moscow project.

The report has two authors. One of them, Anthony Cormier, gave an interview on CNN. He was asked if he had personally vetted the evidence.

“Not personally.”

But Cormier clarified that he had two sources in law enforcement who are, “100 percent read into that aspect of the Special Counsel’s investigation.”

The other author of the report is Jason Leopold. CNN host Camerota asked Cormier about the “dubious past” of Leopold who has had articles removed before for factually incorrect reporting. In 2006, for example, he published a report that said Karl Rove had been indicted. Karl Rove had not been indicted.

This Buzzfeed report may very well be factual. This might be what leads to impeachment for Trump. The Trump presidency might be over.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) tweeted, “Based on the Buzzfeed report and numerous other articles showing @realDonaldTrump committed Obstruction of Justice and other possible felonies, it is time for the House Judiciary Committee to start holding hearings to establish a record of whether @POTUS committed high crimes.”

Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, tweeted about the report.

Former Obama attorney general Eric Holder took the opportunity to tweet about the report and bring up impeachment charges.

None of this is new behavior. It erodes trust in our elected officials. And further fuels the divisiveness splitting apart the United States.

After all, it’s not as if Trump was actually caught on mic telling Vladimir Putin that, “After my election I have more flexibility.” No, that was President Obama speaking to then Russian president Medvedev in what the two thought was a private conversation. Medvedev replied, “I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

Until the special report is released by Mueller, the Trump Russian collusion claims seem disingenuous at best.
