When the Germans invaded they moved all their industry behind the Ural mountains. The Soviets could through millions of men to the front and keep on replacing them again and again. Germany could never do that. Also Germany didn't have the resources to wage a war of attrition with the Soviets they didn't have the manpower or the fuel to run their tiger tanks.

German oil ran out in October of 1941. Stalin expected to arrive in Berlin by March when he started the winter offensive, but the German army turned out to be masters of static warfare as well, and Soviets could only advance a few miles.

After Germany ran out of its pre-war oil stocks, there was small domestic production of oil from coal, plus a little bit from Romanian oil fields, but that was not enough for a big offensive.

There were smaller attacks afterwards of course, but they involved much smaller numbers of planes and tanks, and except for case blue, they were only able to advance a few miles.

On top of numerical advantage, and home field advantage, the Russians implemented a scorched earth policy, if they lost ground they had no intention of leaving anything but rubble and bodies. And you may consider the Ppsh an inferior weapon, but the Russians took the opposite approach of weapons design... where the Germans had 5 factories making specialized parts, the Russians had one factory making as much as they could. As an example, the caliber choices of 7.62x54R, 7.62x25 and later 7.62x39 used the same bore diameter meaning you could use equipment for either, and there's other examples of Russians chopping up defect barrels to reuse for other lesser firearms. The German approach just doesn't hold up with you're fighting a war on such a huge scale, although it definitely gave them a lot of momentum rolling in. Keep in mind also that the Germans and Russians hated each other so much they both ignored the Hague convention and used things like exploding ammunition against each other.
