My boss is married with a child. I am married with children. Last night he tried to kiss me. Given that he is my boss I went with trying to diffuse and make him see sense “think for a second” type statements rather than causing a scene. This then led to him continuing to try and make out with me while trying to get me to go to a hotel so he could “eat me out for hours” because he’s had a long time crush and is madly infatuated etc. I continued trying to diffuse with statements like “it’s better to just keep your fantasy” etc while gently moving out of his embraces. In the end I left him there and got in an Uber.
For added background I’m in a position where I will need to continue going away for work with him. I report directly to him and am I constant close contact.
Also about 6 months ago I was raped and then had a suicide attempt. This was disclosed to my boss in December as it had affected my appearance etc and workplace gossip was getting out of control. Since then he has been very vocal about being supportive and wanting to beat the shit out of the perpetrator etc, in fact earlier conversations that night had been that way.
I don’t want to make an official complaint if it will result in a warning and we all go back to status quo. My HR is one person with a reputation for not being particularly trustworthy and the only other person above me is our MD. Does anyone have any experience, or know if workplace law or sexual harassment law etc that might apply have specific consequences outlined? Ideally I’d like to have an idea of likely outcomes before decided how to progress. Please help thanks

The problem is that the guy is being protective of someone he likes, which is a good thing. But it should be her father that looks out for her, her boss shouldn't do that.

In the longer term, it'd be a good idea to learn how to physically defend yourself from a rape attempt. If a man is trying to kiss you and you are telling him literally "no" but he isn't stopping, you need to kick him right in the balls. There's a big difference between an unwanted kiss and rape, though. For now, you ought to quit immediately and start looking for another job. You can't un-rape yourself later so why risk it?
