also, you can make an impeller pump that will last a very long time, a heavy-duty automotive pump that is able to last ~200k miles in a much rougher hotter environment would last decades in a home environment, and you could order 2 spare sets of bearings and impellers for literally $15 and hang them off the housing with wire so they're always there
