Mexico is not backing up Maduro. Mexico isn't going to do anything about Venezuela. We are not going to help them if they're attacked. We are not allied to them. It's in the constitution to not get involved in foreign affairs. It doesn't matter if you recognize or not the president. The stance is neutral. The US is free to do whatever they please. Mexico won't be dragged into the mess. For example, let's say Maduro is trounced and Guaidó becomes the president. Mexico will simply recognize him. Simple as that. We're not going to not recognize him because we used to recognize Maduro before.
THAT is what being neutral is about. Being neutral isn't "not recognizing anyone" because that's retarded.

Venezuelan oil sucks. It is thick, gloppy, and hard to process, like toothpaste. No one likes it. It requires specialist supply chains and refiners. Most of these skilled folks have left Venezuela, so the oil money is not near what it used to be.
They are down to half their oil production from when Chavez was in power.
The only people really supporting Maduro on the ground are the militias, who got Russian aks and a paycheck. When that paycheck stops, they are just a desperate mob with ak’s

Venezuala is in hard times, and will be for the next few years. They stopped growing food because communism, and started importing tons of food despite have great agricultural capacity. Jungle gets fallow and it’s hard to recover crops so quickly. So the next few years they have no money and no crops.
