But that's the thing about gun crimes, when they happen the more you wish you had a gun. So really, I don't think a massacre would do it. A very long extension of peace, we're talking all demographics nationally, virtually crime free for over a decade, until the population becomes complacent and feels safe. Then punctuated with a mass event that shakes people. They'll question why anyone needs guns after so much peace. This will never happen.
