>In a blog post, YouTube said it would no longer suggest videos with “borderline content” or those that “misinform users in a harmful way” even if the footage did not violate its community guidelines.
>YouTube said the number of videos affected by the policy change amounted to fewer than 1 percent of all videos on the platform. But given the billions of videos in YouTube’s library, it is still a large number. YouTube and other powerful technology platforms have faced rising criticism for failing to police the content that users post.
>YouTube’s recommendation engine has been denounced for pushing users to troubling content even when they showed little interest in such videos. It has also been blamed for widening the political divide in the country, pushing already partisan viewers to more extreme points of view.
>The new policy is also the latest example of YouTube’s taking a more aggressive approach to content that many find distasteful even if it is not in violation of the service’s community guidelines.
>In late 2017, YouTube started putting “controversial religious or supremacist” content in a “limited state” so the videos are not monetized with advertising, and features such as comments and likes are turned off. Some videos appear behind a brief message saying the videos may be inappropriate or offensive.
>YouTube provided only three examples of the types of videos that it would stop recommending: those promoting a phony miracle cure for a serious illness, ones claiming the earth is flat or content making blatantly false claims about historic events like the Sept. 11 attacks.
>The company declined to provide more detail on what other videos would be classified borderline.
So jewtube continues to slide into a corporate mtv clone. It won't be missed.
Julian Brooks
>YouTube and other powerful technology platforms have faced rising criticism for failing to police the content that users post.
Where exactly, who exactly, is doing this pressuring I wonder?
the actual general consensus across the internet is the censorship is fucking bullshit and evil and needs to be done away with.
Eli Ross
Well the whole point of them is to be on the fringe that's what makes them fun no one knows about them. So when you come across one it's a gold mine that opens all kinds of doors.
This. It's good for the sub-culture. It'll take it back to its roots: edgy, dark schizo-like theorizing over 90s techno and badly edited video that talks about the nature of reality, knowledge, and society that elites don't want you to know about. Conspiracy theory is a major part of the internet's folklore. Not always right, but sometimes has penetrating insight and unconcealment of that-which-shall-not-be-named that blue pilled redditfags, commie bugmen, and late night tv comedy would never touch.
Nolan Miller
Hey kike all these companies will be anti trusted. YOu're scared shitless of people waking up. It's too late.
Aaron Bell
>has also been blamed for widening the political divide in the country, Censorship is what widens the divide. You're making things worse, YouTube. If these conspiracy videos are so insignificant (less than 1%) why bother censoring them? Because you're actually afraid of their content?
Nicholas Carter
Anyone in this thread who says this is a goo thing is an israeli shill trying to do some perception management because it's is incredibly ridiculous. The lengths these companies are going to in order to suppress information is staggering and only serves to expose how scared these people really are.
Liam Bailey
Anyone in the UK can turn on BBC one right now and see quite open promotion of hatred which is completely illegal with respect to our globally renowned human rights laws.
Jackson Brown
9/11 truth videos no longer exist on youtube. hope you backed everything up on Bitchute, goyim
Connor Young
It's okay. Mueller is gonna reveal it all an you're fucked anyways. The censorship isn't to prevent people from finding out the truth. The censorship is to protect your fragile zionist egos. You're weak weak people.
Jace Scott
Can't wait till positive arguments about [political candidate] are considered "borderline" or "misinforming".
Nolan Hernandez
What happened to the tech industry being for net neutrality, eh? Bunch of technofascists.
According to the source, a software engineer in the thread also noted that “a bunch of terms related to the abortion referendum in Ireland” had been added to the blacklist – another change with potentially dramatic consequences on the national policies of a western democracy.
youtube_controversial_query_blacklist
At least one post in the discussion thread revealed the existence of a file called “youtube_controversial_query_blacklist,” which contains a list of YouTube search terms that Google manually curates. In addition to the terms “abortion,” “abortions,” “Maxine Waters,” and search terms related to the Irish abortion referendum, a Google software engineer noted that the blacklist includes search terms related to terrorist attacks. (the posts specifically mentions that the “Strasbourg terrorist attack” as being on the list).
“If you look at the other entries recently added to the youtube_controversial_query_blacklist(e.g., entries related to the Strasbourg terrorist attack), the addition of abortion seems…out-of-place,” wrote the software engineer, according to the source.
After learning of the existence of the blacklist, Breitbart News obtained a partial screenshot of the full blacklist file from a source within Google. It reveals that the blacklist includes search terms related to both mass shootings and the progressive anti-second amendment activist David Hogg.
This suggests Google has followed the lead of Democrat politicians, who have repeatedly pushed tech companies to censor content related to the Parkland school shooting and the Parkland anti-gun activists. It’s part of a popular new line of thought in the political-media establishment, which views the public as too stupid to question conspiracy theories for themselves.
Wyatt Bailey
>y-you can't watch thought-provoking videos goyim, what if you actually start to thought after that? >SHUT IT DOWN
Henry Richardson
YouTube censoring flat earth should really make you look into it.. why would they censor it if it didn’t hurt them or if it’s “so ridicullus” then leave it up and let people think for themselves.. let people decide if we should continue to trust NASA.. fuck these fucking (((fucks))) man
Ethan Butler
I don't want people to "wake up". "Waking up" is a bad metaphor for how ideas spread. It entails some sort of shifting period from darkness to light. Any sort of enlightenment leads to blindness. See Plato's Cave or the Book of Exodus: those that reach the light either reach a false light or are blinded for a period. I want the period before the light: darkness, discovery, and creeping through caves. I want my conspiracy theory aesthetic back that allows for a higher tier of conspiracy theorists and their audience: edgy, dark, schizo, and scares the shit out of boomers and blue pilled normie leftists. I don't want people like you: generic Alex Jones watching, low IQ, neocon boomer hillbillies that love Israel while pretending to be one of us by trying to ape our memes.
All the good stuff was always created on the edges and the periphery. That's how image board culture got big. Not because of the truth and the light, but because of the darkness and the edges. Being mainstream is for fucking faggots, and this sort of strategy by leftists and the jew is self-defeating because they constantly flex as the counter-culture. The far right is the counter-culture now. By placing us on the edges and in the dark, they've created the cultural conditions for scary rumors about the forbidden knowledge you-aren't-allowed-to-know and non-normies and the curious will seek us out. Thus unintentionally spreading our red-pills.
William Collins
Of course you don't. You're a zionist. The only thing you'll be seeing is an Iranian fucking your sister.
Blake Garcia
>waaaah I want to sap our strategic strengths in spreading memes because I think the internet is like cable television channels
the only way to tell is to compose a video about it and see if they nuke it
Jaxon Reyes
Bump.
Tyler Jackson
This is some really stupid shit, user.
Parker Nelson
If it were "really stupid" you'd easily come up some with a better argument than the kind of lazy retort a stupid person might write.
Christian Butler
*you'd easily come up with
David Flores
>misinform users in a harmful way Like deleting footage from the Covington kids that wasn’t severely edited by MSM then punishing anyone who spoke out about them pushing a lie? Google is garbage and lost credibility a long time ago.
Anthony Brooks
I don't really understand why they even need to make new rules. They love to take down channels for no reason and suffer zero consequences. They took down the ralph retort and he didn't break any of the rules.
Cooper Torres
I was trying to find some stuff on the possible Ted Bundy/Bush connection and there was nothing 'cept some pics
Dominic Peterson
This shit really possess me off, it I’m not surprised they did this. It was binging those videos that helped me wake up, but now you can’t even find them. I spent a few minutes playing around after reading this, and the only results that come up are the official narrative news channels and “fact checker”/“debunking” videos. They’re definitely trying to memory hold some issues here.
I already gave you more of my time than you deserve.
>I already gave you more of my time than you deserve.
You have the wrong interpretation of this exchange. I'm the one poking a retard with a stick here. You've proven to me you aren't capable of even supporting your own assertions.
did you ever wonder; why is there no other platform like it?
Aaron Peterson
This explains why I keep refreshing my recommendations and its all normie shit now. This is fucking sad, i hardly get notifications now either even when they are turned on. I say we commence with moving operations over to the pornhub servers.
Ayden Clark
Lads is there an alternative to youtube? It’s the last google service I still use and mostly due to lack of alternative.
Ethan Edwards
Flat earth was a psyop to make people the ultimate skeptics. Then they become walking deterrents for whatever cause they embrace.
Nolan Moore
Pornhub is the only real alternative, unfortunately. They don't censor, they have taken an interest in taking on google/youtube and normal videos and they have the infrastructure.
How realistic it would it be to build a recommendation plugin that works like the old system? Cant we just 3rd party our way around their dumbass algorithm?
Dominic Harris
When the jews say 'conspiracy' they mean political dissent.
Oliver Hall
Not if they delete the videos, which they are.
Xavier Brown
Oh well the joke is on them, the less "red pilled" material I watch the more Jow Forums and improvement related material I watch and implement. Spilled milk for the NWO and there is no putting it back.
>YouTube and other powerful technology platforms have faced rising criticism for failing to police the content that users post. From who? No one ever asks that question.
Aaron Allen
It limits the reach. Its harder to spread the truth. I don't know why youtube even bothers, most people never accept views outside what media tells them. They are most likely going to expand definition of conspiracy, and through that shut down milquetoast anti-establishment figures.
Lincoln Reed
Oh yeez. That will surely send the right idea.
Eli Nguyen
I don't even find anything funny on youtube anymore. it sucks. fuck them. i dont fucking care.
John Cox
Post your favorite "conspiracy" videos here so that they can be saved and never silenced.
David Ramirez
People should just constantly spam uploads, tax their servers, clog their shit with nothing but random videos of nonsense and such. Im sure you could make scripts to download and reupload various videos and just run it on a loop. Bandwidth isnt free and even Google will feel it after it snowballs and more adopt this protest.
Jordan Morris
Google under-utilize their servers and computational power a LOT. I don't think even a thousand dedicated people can make a noticable difference.
Henry Hall
Some autist should crunch the numbers. Their ad revenue is way down. 2 years ago P&G decided to slash their internet advertising citing it was ineffectual. Some of this could be Google trying to kill two birds with 1 stone. Trim the video fat and censorship.
Elijah Perez
Jewtube needs a competitor
Evan Price
Ad revenue is down due to them including ad blocks in chrome Its why they arent allowed on android next update fixes the theft issue If you want to see that site, best be ready to see the site >bandwidthlets pushed off
Bentley Hernandez
True, I don't know have I grown up. Or is content in youtube shit nowdays. But there rarely is anything funny. If it's fun it just gets copyrighted or banned.
Eli Scott
This can be circumvented with playlists
David Hernandez
how come communist faggots focus on trannys and shit instead of these issues. I mean if I was a communist which would move me further to my goal, depriving megacorps of revenue and brainwashing influence or guys in dresses? If groups like anonymous arent just fronts for govts then how come they dont make tools with their coding skills to help fight censorship and other corporate control?
Carter Hill
Remember the "cohencidence detector" app that weev and co made? Where the fuck are new tools? This has been bothering me. If someone like weev can make those tools why isnt he producing more shit?
Brandon Rogers
Calling them rocky mountain oysters doesnt change that they are bull testicles Calling them commies doesn't make them so
Josiah Phillips
From their feminist hipster wives and diversity hires inside their companies.
Just riffing here but what about a proposal to setup a patreon to fund independent coding projects like this? Why cant Jow Forums crowdsource these projects to produce tangible results? We just sit here and talk shit and make memes.
Juan Butler
How to kill your platform, step 45 in an ongoing series
Samuel Lopez
>no legal credentials about who is and isn't a member of the press >youtube blocks your videos >take them to court for suppressing the press >governments introduce journalism licences just as keikaku (keikaku mean planned)
Thomas Bailey
>2133 david hogg cant remember Accidentally searched with the number included and it actually shows the video, but without it, it's scrubbed from the result. That was odd.
>"borderline" >"misinform" >"harmful" All imprecise and open to interpretation by YouTube's leftie content reviewers. As usual.
Cameron Reyes
Sounds like a job for Elon Musk and/or Peter Thiel.
Leo Cooper
Google runs youtube at a loss in order to maintain market share, its a bit of a loss leader for them in that it brings in other revenue and clients. The only way you could compete without being pornhub would be a subscription service I think. The hard part is getting people to pay for something they get for free already. See youtube red.
Now if you could partner with many of the big youtubers and offer them better compensation you might could start to split the audience the way twitch has.
Bentley James
What should YT do instead? Let 0,01% of the uploaders alienate the entire community? Most conspiracy videos are either dumb tinfoil-tier theories or government propaganda aimed at misinforming people. That is without taking into account the pseudo-medical bs that can send people to an early grave.
Evan Flores
Gaddafi unironically dindu nuffin
Lucas Bennett
>private corporation functions as a petty dictatorship Hmmmm... Now if only there was a movement that was all about democratizing businesses, enacting a sort of "private sector bill of rights", and putting major decisions to popular consent.....
oh wait that's cuck basedboy commie libtard venezuela NPC thinking, we can't have that
