More importantly, It's not what I would call slavery.
It wouldn't be a way of life if it just said "but ho, just do whatever you want". Any philosophy or religion will tell you to "give yourself completely" to their way.
And even then, I would consider Christianity softer on this subject than you may think. See the part where Jesus tell the rich guy to "abandon everything he have and follow him". I see a lot of people misunderstanding this part. It's not about living in poverty, it's about realising you will always be imperfect in this life, and you have to understand it to always make yourself a better person. You are never "at the top" of what you can be.
I wouldn't call it "slavery of guilt", I would call more "always improve".
