Instead, you'll be left with permanently mediocre societies. This could be good or bad. Excess comforts lead to low birth rates. It might very well be true that the birth rate spikes in hard times. It might also very well be true that hard times lead to revolution. But that just another reason why traditional European men and women need to remain close to society, to participate in revolutions and contribute to revolutionary ideas.
