Going off this, they had 159 councillors in the south in 2014, down to 128 so that's 31, however 2 more resigned in the past week, so that's 33. They've lost 7 in the north, from 105 to 98 currently listed, a senator and 2 TDs too, which leaves us with 43, so yeah I was off, it's still a lot of people to lose.
I'm worried that people might still not know that they're full of shite, but it might change a bit when the likes of Adams leave for good, I think people still like them a bit for the IRA stuff.

This is the problem user....to rural "oirish" people, they're SF are basically like North England's Labour party......despite their working class voters being opposed to immigration (SF voters were the highest % of people who were against taking in migrants in a 2015 poll iirc) they still vote for SF and enable them to enact far left legislation like in dublin city council who spend more time worried about flying Palestinian flags than helping the homeless.

Hopefully if alternatives come up people will change though, in North England the problem there is FPTP is a shit system, so you're basically stuck with a Tory or Labour, or in a bad area Tory or Red Tory. Even if your Labour MP is good that won't stop a load of Red Tories getting in elsewhere either. And UKIP have been a mess since 2016 too, even then they weren't getting many seats.
Here with PR-STV people could at least give alternatives a vote first before they do something like give the vote to FF/SF to stop FG getting in, in England or Scotland in particular you're fucked.
And there's also working class people who think FF or FG are the best thing too, for whatever reason, like Varadkar's comments on welfare cheats and I'm for the lad who gets up early applied well to them even if FG couldn't give a shite about them.
Either set up our own groupings or try to change them within, I think the former is more plausible.

Donegal and Roscommon are prime NP turf so they are. Although as others have pointed out, a lot of those rural people are heavy into their "tribal politics" and they tend to vote on a "my father voted for his father and youll vote for his son" basis......so SF and FF will probably still have a lot of hold on those areas with people who dont know any better.
