Red states are the biggest recipients of retirees. Welfare stars include Medicare and Social Security, which retirees are ELIGIBLE for.
You know who gets the most welfare? Look at NY and California: blue states (once red) with high GDP but some of the worst crime and homeless rates.
Now, ask yourself one thing. Why do retirees choose red states? Because they generally have lower tax rates and crime. So fuck off, liberal dumbass. You are cancer. Just because a state provides more tax due to population does not make it any better.

To find out what people really want to know, is whether or not blue or red voters take more. They don't give you enough information to see that, even based on county, which could be compared to voting patterns.
It's not necessarily the number of bases, but the size of some of the military bases in red states and the equipment. Bragg, Hood, Campbell, Benning--these bases are huge and have tons of men. Not to mention lots of the most expensive air assets (B1, B2, F35 F22) have lots of hangars in red states.

Recipients of welfare is an incomplete statistic which doesn't include payouts from funds raised themselves (within the state). Generally speaking the more heavily populated and service industry/finance oriented + higher tax blue states in the north east receive less federal funds to supplement welfare, but they pay out more in welfare than most southern states.
Top US states in welfare spending per capita:
New York, Alaska, Massachusetts, Vermont, Minnesota, New Mexico, Delaware, Maine, Oregon, Kentucky, in that order. Perhaps the productive and voting members of red states would like to see government spending curbed regardless of who is receiving funds where.
