It seems to me they should be teaching kids civics, government and ethics. Maybe even some real life classes like managing a budget, balancing a bank account, etc.

I sure do love when raging leftists pretend to not hate America.

Mass communal education has failed either way, it was a bizarre social experiment that has left the West in ruins.

>civics, government and ethics
this is exactly what you find in bible study

saged

America's children are under 50% white, so of course them studying a multicultural religion like Christianity makes sense.

Modern politics is bound to atheism as the state religion.

Well, on that, we agree. But perhaps that should be in addition to the Bible rather than instead of. Every child in America should learn to hunt, fish, and cook, also. Survival skills are always needed.

>they should be teaching kids civics, government and ethics.
They conspired to have that dropped from classes.
And it's probably THE most important thing to learn.
pic related, remember?

Comparing an imbecile like Trump to a titan of thought like Jefferson is not fair OP

Fuck no let's learn about fairy tales and how shitty life was before technology.

Is that real?

they meant no one single government sanctioned religion to prevent a whole church of england fiasco.
Bible is a version of history not a religion.

Besided brown vs board of ed decision was written by the KKKs lawyer, Otis, after he got on the supreme court.

The jist was KKK hated catholics so they banned public busses from dropping kids off at catholic school.

love when libs spew church state bs, they actually quoting kkk shit

Jefferson was a (((mason))). One of the reasons for separating church from state is that the colonial governments all had stipulations that barred non-christians from holding office. And so since the time being a christian was racial, this barred jews. And also going back further to england, jews could not be part of the church, and so they could be part of the state. Much of what the masonic revolutions were about was emancipating jews and making so they could operate in government openly. And now muslims communists and jews and operating freely in government.

In Thomas Jefferson's day schools weren't part of the government.

How about separation of synagogue from state? That is what is needed. Remove meddlesome jews from. We need a Declaration of Independence from Zionism.

It's fucking optional, you retard.

There's nothing wrong with studying the bible in school. It's one of the most influential books in human history. I'm hoping Trump is talking about literature/history classes...but I have a feeling that he's not.

Fpbp

Founding fathers would of completely been against the federal government forcing children into small class rooms in the name of "education"

>doesn't say anything when holocaust is taught in schools
>doesn't want people to study bible
Yep he is definitely not a kike shill.

This is literally the stupidest attempt at kiking Jefferson's intentions I've seen all day and that's saying a lot.

Separation of church and state on a federal leve. Every state was filled with a symphony of church and state. The Bible was the choice of education in all states.

The content of the courses is honestly almost irrelevant. More importantly, you've got good, honest teachers working in environments that make it impossible for them to teach ANYTHING. I don't care if it's Deuteronomy or hard economics - serious thinking itself is a skill kids have to learn at a young age. The details can come later but the patterns and methods (memory, reasoning, logic) have to be taught young and they just aren't.

In geometry we made a hypothetical mars colony. It taught everything out could possibly want on resource management and budgeting.

Optional religion is a non issue when society is being dominated by religion's retarded cousin, social justice.

Trumptards won't understand.

No, just no

Clip is how christians and probably every single monotheism religion treat their children

>muh (((ethics)))
>Not teaching kids objective morality

The "founding fathers" were liberal freemason cucks. A common religion is essential to a functional society.

Education belongs to the goverment?

>unironic use of trumptard from a country that makes shrines out of toilets

Bigly Awesome!

>ethics
whose ethics are you referring to?

>Cheats on 1st wife
>Cheats on 2nd wife
>Cheats on 3rd wife with porn start and playboy bunny
>Now wants religion taught in school

The irony is just hilarious Donald.

I had something similar but it was a UN Type model and everyone always got ass mad at me because I would invade and kill all of my neighbors throughout the year, by the end of the year I ruled 95% of the solar system and the remaining survivors were pushed out past Pluto trying to escape the god emperors wrath

Implying the horrible school system is part of “free society”.... snicker

Why can’t you retards grasp the difference between a church- an organized ecclesiastical hierarchy, and a religion?

They do lol its called required Personal Finance and required Liberty and Law

An optional class about the best selling book of all time is somehow infringing church and state.
Even atheists should be able to see the pure literary influence that the bible has had.

Attached: 7 11 pepe.png (500x500, 35K)

>Implying that theological electives are mandatory
>Implying that theological electives are incompatible with secular education

We have that in Australia, it's a shit system. When teaching us about paying taxes, they brainwash is into thinking how our high tax rate is completely justified. When talking about government, we are given lectures by our social science teachers on how the white australians stole land from the boongs and how we as ethical Australians need to pay taxes to support their petrol sniffing. I do however agree with you on the bank account and budget education, we also teach that here.

Fyi religion is important, you talk about teaching ethics, religion also teaches ethics, such as don't commit adultery. The president is completely justified in giving the kids a choice to learn about the Bible. Keyword 'choice', if you don't like it, just don't send your kids. It isn't like Australia where were forced to learn about the 63 different genders through a giraffe puppet.

They have removed God from the classrooms and replaced Him with the new state religion, Secular Humanism.

Why do atheists use a couple quotes from Jefferson and a single treaty to argue separation of church and state, yet apparently an entire fucking Amendment and supporting quotes from virtually every founding father doesn't justify gun rights?

Oh my god, how brainwashed you are.

Secular hunabism is the root cause of America's many problems.

>giving students the option of studying
>OPTION
I hate you retarded illiterate niggers

>1 post by id

learn to code fagget

Separation of church and state was one of the most profound errors made by the founders. Each should exist in union with the other like the double headed eagle. The Ghibelline ideal found in Byzantium should be the goal not this masonic hell.

But the bibble is a literary tool. It help most of Europe develop how to read and write and in most cases christianity was a massive influence on pulling western civilization out of the middle ages with inspiration into the Renaissance Era eventually leading Europe into Scientific Revolution.

We owe the bible, whether you are religious or not, waayyyyy more credit than it deserves.

You're doing the whatabout-ism bit. Stop. Clearly all that stuff should be taught too.

All major religious texts should be studied in school, and the Christian Bible in particular because it's the most prevalent religion in this country. Jefferson's talking about a different question -- How much of that should be reflected in our laws. Personally I rarely have differences with what most old-school (non-immigration-cucked) Christians want for this country.

Given that the totality of our society comes from Christian morals and practices, I don't think its wrong at all.
And I think the separation of church and state implies federal and religious relations, not what a town funded school decides to put in its curriculum.

Just run education privately. Problem solved.

Lol, "ethics". Yeah, let's have a class on utilitarianism. That's never going to happen.

What you find in a bible study is a fiction book about a big scary man in the sky who's invisible, and you have to do what he says or else - nothing to do with civics, government and ethics

Can you even read? What exactly don't you understand in the word "option"?

>Optional
Why is this so hard to understand.

The holocaust is a non-fiction event that occured and is a major part of history.

The bible is a fiction book with literally no evidence to back it.

You don't need a fiction book to teach morality. Morales can be taught through reward and punishment, regardless of whatever invisible man in the sky there is.

>The holocaust is a non-fiction
Spotted the kike.

once again it was NOT the founding fathers dope. All they said was the USA will have no single official religion.

You are quoting brown vs board of ed. The head lawyer for the KKK, Otis, was appointed to supreme court. cause kkk hates catholics the banned public busses from transporting them.

all this bs came from opinion Otis wrote

>muh separation of church and state
>not realizing that this was meant to protect the church from government intrusion, not the other way around
Perhaps you'd like to actually study history before making stupid threads?

Being athiest has no correlation to stance on gun rights. It's not 'athiests' fighting against gun rights, it's the left.

Back to plebbit mongrel faggot

>The bible is a fiction book with literally no evidence to back it.
There's no sky daddy, but god exists in that he is the externalized "source" of good, truth, and creativity. God is that force inside you. Satan is the animalistic destructive force. Your base instincts that just want to eat and fuck and kill. It's man that feeds the hungry, treats the sick, and stands on water, but he can only do these things with a good nature and healthy muse.

Further, heaven and hell are not real places, they're the memory of you held by your loved ones after you die - because that's the only way your you-ness exists. You have everlasting life if you go to heaven if your family thinks back on you fondly and often. You suffer in hell if your family thinks back on you with disdain.

And signing the cross is a reminder of your obligations:

>Father
Your forefathers, those that came before you and passed their traits on to you. Your race.

>Son
Your heirs, the generations to come, and the legacy you leave behind to them. Your nation.

>Holy Spirit
Your inner good, truth, and creativity. Your God

It's all metaphors to explain a certain way of life to uneducated folks (who couldn't even read) 2000-5000 years ago.

Jesus being born of the Virgin Mary coincides with astronomy activity where Jupiter passed through Virgo in the sky. It's often stated here that the Dead Sea Scrolls points to the Caesars heavily influencing early Christianity (though I have not seen this for myself). Old religious folk used to say things like "Don't masturbate or god will give you hairy palms!" or "Don't marry that adulterous woman, she's the devil!" or "Keep holy the Sabbath!" and it all sounds so very "Do it because I said so!" But when you find that masturbation leads to chemical imbalances in the brain, or that women who have more than 5 sexual partners develop a psychological condition preventing them from pairbonding, or that church is a powerful social tool for finding solidarity and meeting like-minded people - I suddenly find myself in a pew every Sunday morning.

Great example of why we should study history.
Many colonists emigrated from England and Northern Ireland because of the English Civil War, and Stewart oppression of religious freedom.
This is perhaps the most important thing that shaped the Constitution and the new Republic.

>giving students an option to study a religious text means Christian Sharia is creeping
I wish.

>giving students the option
>the option
>option
Wow what a fascist?! Ha. It’s hilarious watching Trump crash and burn but seriously we can’t let this guy get his hands on the Da Vinci Code.

How about not letting some of our societys dumbest women teach our youth at their most impressionable

>Occupy Democrats citing the Founding Fathers

That's rich. The media also has, as usual, misrepresented the story. The classes are optional, and study the Bible's significance in history and in literature. They are not theology classes, and the point isn't to say that Christianity is the true religion. The Bible is one of the most widely cited works of writing in the world, and countless references to it exist in history and in classic literature.

Even if you do not "believe", The Bible is great allegorical work of philosophy. We'd have a lot more intelligent, purpose-driven people walking around if it was studied properly in schools.

>Atheism is based on provable science
Atheism is based on being an edgy contrarian. You're fooling yourself if you think any of the rank and file atheists give a shit about provable science. These are the same retards screaming "FEELINGS NOT FACTS"

I'm an atheist and i do nothing of the sort. from my cold dead hands i say.

>natural consequences for actions teaches morality created by God
Well, fuck. Who knew? Maybe you should take the time and actually read the Bible.

Do atheists like this guy ever realize they are just repeating talking points and not thinking for themselves? It's the same as a Christian citing the Bible and not having any thought of their own. Atheist are modern day zealots. No thought, just regurgitation.

>Atheist are modern day zealots. No thought, just regurgitation.
NPCs, yes.

>Thinking separation of church and state means the politicians aren't allowed to have a religion.
>Not understand it means that the church doesn't have a say in government.

>>Not understand it means that the church doesn't have a say in government.
And vice versa.

>Go against law created by God
>Be surprised when you get burnt
WHO KNEW?!!

CORRECTION I messed up

case was everson vs board of ed
former kkk lawyer supreme court judge was hugo black who wrote opinion

yeah thanks for adding that.

This only shows how much of a rudimentary understanding of the Bible you have.

I recommend looking into classical philosophy and metaphysics. Once you begin to wrap your mind around it, you'll see how little you truly know.

And yet...

prove Buddhism isn't the one true religion. I'll wait.
