How does religion fit in your life, Jow Forums?

How do you practice it? Does it make you happier?

It doesn't because its corrupted by man.
On a different note, I think St. Michael came to me in a dream a few days ago. Something about taking a sword and killing demons or something of the sort.

What is this and how do I learn more

I don't know, I got it from a thread on /b/ that died rather quickly

Jow Forums hates 'Jews' because Jow Forums acts just like them;
But, just not as successful.
It's pretty sad.
There's not a pious man on Jow Forums, just LARPer's spewing about degeneracy.

What is a pious man?

Interesting, danke for sharing, saved

Start by reading Stalking the Wild Pendelum, The Bhagavad Gita, Jung, Prometheus Rising

I go to church right as the service ends and socialize. Then I go home and do solitary witchcraft spells I learned on YouTube

...one who follows moral and ethical codes in coordination with religion.
Jow Forums is concerned with degeneracy, but, only because they learned they are not well-endowed.
Now, a pious man would be concerned with degeneracy, but not for that reason.
A pious man will also never probably be a rich man, especially,
Concerning his conscientious nature in conducting business.
A pious man will never act as a:
Middle man- stocking goods to sell at a profit,
Sales man- using psychology to upsell someone something not necessary,
Man of finance- adjusting and enforcing interest,
Any man of force- speaks to its own nature.
Jow Forums will do all those things.
They are just mad that the Jew does it better.

Nothing but kabbalah, masonry, and new age.
Like I said,
They are just mad that the Jews do it better.

Until recently, religion was totally absent in my life. About a year ago, I was in a low point in my life, and I cried out to Jesus to save me. Now I'm extremely religious, I have a based conservative LCMS church family, and my life is 100% better. But most important of all, I know that Jesus will defend me when I face judgment after I die or the world ends.

Repeat after me: Dear Jesus, although I am a terrible sinner and I fully deserve present and eternal punishment, nevertheless please have mercy on me out of Your divine grace, and be my Lord and Savior!

Traditional Catholicism gives me strength to remove the nigs.

I practice no religion, I am an atheist.

Yes it makes me happy.

returning to it because christianity and family are important pillars of western civilization. paganism is a meme. atheism invites and tolerates degeneracy. hedonism is temporary as is the mortal body. hell is forever.

Attached: whitepill.jpg (600x600, 30K)

It doesn't. I'm happily completely irreligious.
Some of their values are fine though.

So pious men can't be productive industrialists? You really think that a man that never worked a day preaching banalities is more pious than a man feeding thousands of families and lifting the standards of life of humanity?

spiritual, not religious

I know that Christ forgives but I still feel like he's disapointed in me, not mad but disapointed

Charity and altruism are always a front for subversive causes.
Always.

>although I am a terrible sinner and I fully deserve present and eternal punishment
We believe in just and merciful God user. No being with finite lifespan deserves eternal punishment. Eternal punishment is not even biblical. Christ died for everyone, and in the end everyone will bow down to Christ and get saved. Thus everything that exists will be made subject to God, and God will be all in all

Welcome back, brother. What you say about atheism and hedonism are absolutely spot-on. People think they can get away with just tip-toeing a few inches down the slippery slope, but before they know it, they're at the bottom.

"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them goes astray, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost? And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray." (Matthew 18:12-13)

Understand that all humans aside from Christ are totally depraved. Christ is no more disappointed in you than he is in the pope (who is just as sinful as you). Christ loves you anyway, just as he loves all of us. He loves you so much, he died and literally descended into hell for you. Pray to him to be your Lord and Savior and to enter your heart.

Attached: 1546995368587.jpg (480x480, 57K)

This.
It is not human nature to do things selflessly.
Even someone like Mother Teresa is really just doing it because that's her kink.

Nevertheless, even though Jesus sees through all your attempts to appear good and holy, and even though Jesus knows that you are utterly saturated with sin, he loves you anyway and he is willing to forgive you and even die for you.

Attached: 1547664805451.jpg (407x569, 59K)

we all know you can do better user, so do your best, ok?

I believe god created us perhaps for his own amusement. which would explain why the more amusing people tend to be the more god seems to reward them. i believe jesus christ was a real person but i don't believe he is god. and i don't believe he would do interdimensional time travel to spawn himself into the world to convince people to follow the bible when he already has the ultimate power to change their minds without even doing all that.

And their might be a possibilty that he is actually just us in the far future that created a simulation. But then we get into chicken and egg paradox and currently i'm not sure science can explain paradox.

I don't know how to be happy in a world I don't understand.

There's only so far human reasoning can take you (and it ain't very far). True understanding will only come from Christ.

'He replied, “The knowledge of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him."' (Matthew 13:11-12)

Something to aspire to

Attached: Lugh.jpg (736x1076, 293K)

god is a jew lie for niggers and faggot single digit IQ southerners

Christ is God, but that is not something you can figure out on your own, and it isn't something someone can convince you of rationally. For:

'Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by My Father in heaven."' (Matthew 16:17)

As for
>ultimate power to change their minds without even doing all that.
Bro, that's like, so nihilistic. That's like something people on /reddit/ would say.
I don't know what the purpose is for us in this world, but there is some purpose and it involves us making choice. Just like you could remove all the bad guys from a video game, but then it would be a shitty-ass video game.

Attached: 1547746322030.jpg (836x1134, 250K)

The unlawful carnal mind sees its own image in how it views others.

>I believe god created us perhaps for his own amusement.
I'm fond of the idea that we are fragments of God, purpose of which is to experience the joy of finding God.

miss me with that heeb shit, friendo.

It's nhilistic but if god is in fact all powerful then changing our course in life would be pretty easy for him to do. That brings us back to the topic of mankind being his personal ant farm. I mean think about it. God is floating around in the higher dimensions. Probably bored as hell. So he needs something to keep him busy.

Just to be clear, I'm not a professional 'quote maker'. I'm just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism.

In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god's blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.

Your logic seems reasonable by earthly standards, but it is a broad path that leads to destruction.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." (Proverbs 14:12)

I shall tell you a paradox: we deserve eternal punishment, every one of us, and yet Jesus Christ has taken that punishment so that we do not have to, if we only believe in Him and accept Him as our Lord and Savior. Repent!

Attached: 1548208110880.jpg (680x507, 53K)

I am deeply religious, yet I don't worship anything.

I follow my own beliefs, maintain my own morality, and will defend them to the death without ever mentioning them. I do Good out of logical considerations, and cannot seek praise or reward for doing Good. And I expect Hell as an afterlife and welcome it. With all my enemies gathered in one place and the worst having already occurred, having the freedom to mete out long denied Justice will make a Heaven out of damnation.

Do you know what would happen in a multiplayer game if the admin suddenly logged on and started giving everyone super powers so they could kill any NPC instantly etc etc etc? Everyone would quit the game because it would be lame as fuck!

The way you're questioning God is like a general who is planning to invade an enemy country. He has a map of that country, but he crumples the map up because it's all full of confusing rivers and roads and mountains and shit. He thinks, surely reality cannot be so confusing! There's no way this map can possibly be accurate! It ought to be all symmetrical, and beautiful...

>one post

heres your ((((((((((((((((((((((you)))))))))))))))))))))))

It's been a hell of a journey so far. Was raised in a Catholic home where we regularly attended church. Parents stopped forcing me to go, except at Easter and Christmas, around age 15. Around age 18, I participated in a psychological study which gave me an epiphany and turned me into an atheist.

Now, at age 29, the disgust and horror with which I behold the world is making me think that, even if God doesn't exist, the principles of religiosity as demonstrated in the Bible (clumsily, IMO) - namely, faith in universal systems of understanding and common values and unity within a society or state - were remarkably prescient, stabilizing, and morally justified. Christianity and Gnosticism are very interesting to me these days, although I am still naturally repulsed by rituals and chanting of any sort.

You are opposing my earthly logic with earthly logic of your own, only veiled behind the disguise of seeming transcendency. I believe universalism is the purest form of Christianity. God's love is inescapable. Christ's will is to save everyone. Do you seriously think he will not achieve this goal?

Just like Adam's sin automatically cursed us all, Christ's sacrifice automatically saved us all. No other positioning of these two premises would make sense.

> For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.
(1 Timothy 4:10)

> And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
(1 John 2:2)

Note that universalistic salvation was originally a more than eternal punishment. Eternal punishment is a trick of the devil, meant to turn people away from Christianity. It's no coincidence that such lie was invented by the satanic Catholic church:

>During the first five centuries of Christianity, there were six theological schools, of which four (Alexandria, Antioch, Caesarea, and Edessa, or Nisibis) were Universalist; one (Ephesus) accepted conditional mortality; one (Carthage or Rome) taught endless punishment of the wicked.
>ccel.org/ccel/schaff/encyc12/Page_96.html

In life of death, everyone will find and accept Christ. Everyone will get saved. Christ's will to save every soul is greater than man's will to reject God. Christ will not rest until every soul is His:

"But when He saith, All things are put under Him, it is manifest that He is excepted, which did put all things under Him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him, that God may be all in all
>God may be all in all
(1 Corinthians 15:27)

Check out pic related, bro...

>Christianity and Gnosticism
This is a big struggling point for me too. I have this bottomless thirst for esoterica, and I wish to God that I could know (maybe by divine revelation) whether the gnostics were the true christians all along, or whether they are of Satan. Pretty much my only hope is that Jesus loves me so much that He will vouch for me at the gates of heaven even though I'm literally so blind I don't know up from down...

Attached: AllReligionsAreStupid.jpg (470x960, 96K)

God wouldn't even have to give super powers. remember god is all powerful. he created us. all he has to do is whisper into our ears. or just flick a switch and change our minds for us. And since he doesn't do any of that. That leads me to believe he must be more or less OK with what we are doing down here. Or maybe he got bored with this ant farm and went to play with another one. I'm sure has has plenty. And not all of his ant farms have complex life forms. I think Mr God just likes to play, and he should, because being a god is probably kinda fun sometimes.

Jesus and God are likely far greater than the boundaries assigned by either mainstream christianity or gnosticism, or even other world religions. It'd probably not be that extreme to believe that all religions have found different face of the supreme God, with this God manifesting in different ways depending on the cultural and historical contexts of the religions on question. Would it not make sense that the most truthful spiritual context is the one that validates the largest amount of religious views?

Thanks for the beautiful Bible verses brother. I hope you are right, but I don't want to take the risk. After all, if you are right, then this lifetime is a blink of an eye, so who cares if I miss out on some worldly pleasures.

And the older I get, the less those worldly pleasures appeal to me anyway. These days, going to church is actually a genuine joy, being with other believers, supporting each other. I've been to things like raves which are supposed to be >muh non-judgmental. But I found they're actually intensely judgmental, just the rules they judge you on are unwritten. In a quality conservative church, the base assumption is already that everyone is totally depraved, and THAT foundation allows a *truly* non-judgmental community to form.

Attached: 1546972370919.jpg (503x503, 56K)

In either case, I share your view that earnestly seeking Truth and trusting that Christ will guide you home, be it through how unconventional path, will be enough.

In a way, yes. That's why I'm beginning to suspect that God isn't a thing or a being. God is...the understanding that is intrinsic to groups of people; the instincts, values, and pursuits which make life on this planet tolerable, productive, and fulfilling. This is very meta, but it is the only conception of God that isn't rife with material and factual contradictions. The rituals and traditions which were borne out of all religions over the years are just different ways of expressing the same understanding.

Why does our universe exist though? Consider a computer which is used to do scientific computations. Imagine the bits in the computer are self-aware, but they don't understand what their purpose is. They bounce around, switching on and off, wondering why on earth God doesn't just put them in memory-bit heaven or whatever.

Maybe individual humans' struggles with faith are part of some grand computation God is performing? I mean, that's a huge stretch, the point is really just that it's incredibly pretentious to imagine you know what God is up to and that you could do it better!

What if we accepted the premise that "God" has no intentions, is not a being, and does not have a will. Does that change how humanity exists and lives?

You are a dumb fuck.

Glad to hear you have found something that works for you. If you are interested in reading more about universalism, this is a well written article series: gods-kingdom-ministries.net/teachings/books/creations-jubilee

Other random articles can be found here: tentmaker.org/articles/

In my case, once I started studying the universalistic perspective, it felt like a huge burden had been lifted off my shoulders. I could never really reconcile the fact that only those who have heard Gospel will be saved, or that eternal punishment exists in the first place. It allowed me to ascend to a new level of love of God. I still believe that some form of post-death purification process exists. If you are not in Jesus, you will likely have to pay the penalty for your sins yourself. But could such penalty ever be infinite? Hard to picture.

>Would it not make sense that the most truthful spiritual context is the one that validates the largest amount of religious views?
That appeals to my intuition, but my intuition is not a reliable guide in religious matters. And it directly contradicts Christ himself, who said:

"Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)

You're probably right, though, that neither the mainstream Christians nor the gnostic Christians have the perfect picture exactly right. I imagine Jesus looks down at all of them, shakes his head, chuckles. "Y'all still can't understand, can you! Well, that's okay, I love you and I will save you anyway."

...only responding to what was given;
You have yet to say anything of intelligence or importance.
You have made good use of your faculties in a world that is very hard to discern.
You will be fine.
But I want to give you some hints:
Torah was law, but not for Christians.
Talmud was a bad interpretation that was not Word, but,
Kaballah was an evil that overtook Judaism, with a messiah complex about 1,500.
In concert, Zionism entered the 'Church' about the same time.
We can't trust anything we read.
I contest for the Truth.

Are you saying that such realization brought you further into materialism? In my case, it elevated my spiritual understanding to a much higher, more universal level: that god is so massive and multidimensional that we can only experience parts of him at a time. Rituals and traditions are meant to serve as foundation and guidestones to the path to God, a path that each willing individual ultimately has to walk by themselves. People often miss the point of religion when confuse the religion itself as the god of the religion.

I can't do better because i'm not god. But to answer your question.. Maybe it is possible god wants us to love him but then again love maybe just another concept he himself created so i don't know what value that would have to him. I think of it as creating a beautiful portrait and then the person you painted smiles back at you and thanks you for creating it, And while that probably does feel good, Even if the portrait didn't approve of itself what difference does it make to the painter? Just shrug it off. Oh well. Paint something else.

Jesus said to judge potentially-false prophets by their fruits. Doesn't this universalist doctrine tend to lead toward all the degeneracy everyone here on Jow Forums hates? I mean, I can hardly imagine a universalist church that doesn't simultaneously allow gay preachers, fund immigration, tell women that abortions are ok, etc etc!

Attached: 1547663049339.jpg (570x817, 92K)

My initial intuition is that this kind of theology would lead to an aimless, meaningless life and society where everyone is hopelessly lost in materialism and hedonism!

Attached: HeresyOniChan.jpg (800x800, 160K)

Left the big city of degeneracy (Sydney) and found a much better life in regional Australia. No shit-skins. No lefties. I now go to church every week and engaging with the community. Better mental health, more and better friends.

Best move I ever made.

You don't have to keep living in that human zoo. As trapped as you feel, there is always a way out. Find a good church and tell them about how you have been ensnared by scientology. They will be able to assist you and protect you.

I don't think God's wanting us to love him is a selfless act. I've found in my own life that when I love God, my own life gets better. When I tell my children not to stick their fingers into a light-socket, I'm not doing that because I have some irrational obsession with people avoiding light-sockets. It's because I know what's best for my children, even though they can't possibly understand (at that age) what the harm could be.

>Luke 6:35

I can certainly see how universalism could be used as an excuse for not rejecting your sinful ways. On the other hand, eternal punishment can be used as fearmongering and psychological warfare with the intention to scare people to God, which also could be viewed as a sin. In the end, it's more loving to support people in whatever they choose than force them to do the good thing. This is the foundation on which God's unconditional love is based too, and it is the reason we have been given free will.

From another perspective, universalism is a demonstration of God's enormous love for mankind, which should ideally inspire people to live more virtuous lives out of the gratitude for God's unconditional love and support. I'd argue that most degeneracy is born out of ignorance or rejection of God's love: it's essentially about elevating something ungodly to the status of godhood.

"How good and pleasant it is

Joel Osteen on the way to work. Comfy.

>That appeals to my intuition, but my intuition is not a reliable guide in religious matters.

Did you intend for such seeming contradiction?

Well, I will check out some of your links. In any case, may the Lord be with you and may His grace shine upon you.

You too, thanks for the convo.

It is everything to me. God has answered my prayers all my life. It's really comfy under His care. Yes I am happy.

God doesn't care if you stick your finger into an electrical outlet. He's not gonna stop you. He gave you free will. Do what you want. God loves his retarded creations. It's all entertainment to him but that being said he may have a set of morals he goes by. Thus he may punish people in some way for the things they do. but then again why bother because all we are doing down here is what he programed us to do from day one. it's like a painter getting made at a painting for not turning out the way he wanted.

Lol, good point. Thanks for once again reminding me of the beam in my eye, brother.

How do you mourn though?

>further into materialism?
In the grand scheme, yes - that our material existence is the fundamental medium through which we experience reality. What that implies about the value of our rituals and traditions and metaphysical conceptions of the universe around us, I'm not sure.
>it elevated spiritual understanding...people miss the point of religion and confuse the religion as the god
I agree. That's why my predisposition against chanting and rituals has probably buffed me from falling one way or the other. However, that may also hinder me in my ultimate understand of God as a concept. When you say "spiritual understanding," what do you mean by spiritual as opposed to material or mental?

Indeed, is this not what you see before you?

>When you say "spiritual understanding," what do you mean by spiritual as opposed to material or mental?
Good question. There is some kind of paradox where the material and the spiritual are opposites of each other, but still the same thing. Everything that exists is based on spiritual essence. This essence is the glue that holds the reality together, and the source of it all.

In this sense, by spiritual understanding I refer to the realization of inter-connectedness of all existence, and how it all adds up to a meaningful, conscious form, expressions of which we all are. It's hard to talk about it in definite words, because it is a subjective and primal intuitive experience of insight. Yet it seems more truthful than the room I am in right now.

>Timothy 3:16

Just imagine god spawning himself into his own creation into human form to become a martyr for himself.

But yea. I don't think god would do that. Too much trouble. Like i said above (read my posts) he can just flick the switch. whenever he wants.

I would argue that you've just described a material conception of the world. The inter-connectedness, if it manifests itself primarily in physical beings - in their thoughts, beliefs, and actions - then I believe that is inextricably material.

42 Jesus said unto (((them))), If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

God did not perform such spectacle for himself, but for man. It was a demonstration of his love in a way that all of humanity could understand and relate to.

As I said, it both is and isn't so. Your view is valid, but simultaneously invalid in the sense that it is not the whole view.

Happy because I know there is more than just this world but a bit depressed because I always found that despite all of the "promise" of what the world was meant to be, that Christianity is a fatalistic religion and wants us to reject this world. A bit strange to reconcile at times.

This is one of the hardest points for me too. The question: how seriously should life be taken? Should I regard it as a gift, or a curse? How much should life be enjoyed? How much should it be rejected? Good arguments exist for both sides. It's impossible to figure out what to do with life before committing to one. And I just can't choose.

Same man. Like letting down your grandmother who still maintains a childlike image of you in her head and then one day discovers you jerk off to degenerate shit.

That's trickery. Would be no better than flicking the switch. Either way it's his hand changing his creation. Either way you look at it. He intervened.

But i don't beleive he did intervene. I think Jesus was a crazy guy that went around telling people he was god and the real god probably didn't like Jesus plagarizing his creation. That's why he didn't do anything when the jews nailed him to the cross. Jesus paid the price for his lies and god probably let him into heaven (return to universal conciousness) and forgave him. Might have even reincarnated him. Jesus could be an elephant or a plant of some sort today.

Glad this is getting shared around. It is one of the simplest presentations of the greenpill I have seen.
