Yes. the climate is changing. Yes, humans might even have a small tiny party to do with that change, because of course we do. But no nothing you have seen weather related in your entire life has anything to do with climate change.

I believe Climate Change is happening, and that humans are causing it. However, I think the effects of it have been greatly exaggerated by the scientists.

I support clean environment but I believe we should aim for it honestly rather than by spreading dubious claims about climate and hoping it leads to the desired effect.

most popular factors used to measure the extent of climate change use the ice age 10k years ago as the base of their equilibrium. The earth has been warming since then, and although that process accelerated during certain recent key points of human history (ie: industrial revolution) there isnt going to be an apocalypse for any considerable amount of time. The environmentalism that matters isnt about carbon emissions or whatever, but more along the lines of "dont shit where you eat" regarding ocean garbage, etc.

I believe that the climate changes over time. I am not convinced that our CO2 output affects it in any significant way.

I think it's anthropogenic and unstoppable. I'm in sciences and there just seems to be one fact nobody wants to talk about: if we want to go back to emissions levels of 200 years ago, we have to go back to energy use of 200 years ago. That means we have to go to the population size and lifestyle of 200 years ago. This isn't about just giving up on iPads and electric cars, this requires the extermination of about 6 billion people in a short timescale. The industrial Revolution and its consequences have been devastating.

I'm not quite so pessimistic. The requirement is to cut back on carbon emissions, not energy usage. All energy is ultimately of solar origin. The problem is it takes space to be able to absorb, and land is a very valuable commodity in our society.

It's about energy density. There's a reason we gave up using windmills when we discovered coal and oil.

You can go nuclear (which causes fewer deaths per terrawatt hour than any other form of primary energy), but wind and solar are worse than useless. Australia, Germany and Denmark have gone furthest down the renewable path and their power is the most expensive in the world.

Almost every single solution people bring up to climate change ends up harming small business and the working class. Imagine thinking that you can artificially raise fuel prices to $12/gal without there being any repercussions.

I personally like these grass roots initiatives to replant trees in the rainforest; id support organizations as such.

Companies also need to make electric cars more competitive with diesel/gas cars. In my opinion, the Tesla is a good role model. Although it’s really expensive at the moment, letting it compete in the market will eventually lower its prices to a point where even the working class can afford one (I’m not sure about the impoverished, so in any case there should not be any excruciatingly high fuel taxes or anything along that matter)

Also need to completely stop all immigration, or at least reduce immigration from the third world. The only third worlders that actually make it to America are the ones who actually have the potential to help develop their own home countries. Continue to take them into our countries, and their home country starts losing more opportunity for success, leading to lower living conditions, which is why people start leaving these countries in the first place. It’s time to cut this perpetual death cycle.
