The money being freshly printed Fiat or reallocated tax dollars makes no difference. By giving everyone a lump sum every month you raise the price floor. Military housing allowance and EBT do exactly what you're saying UBI won't when all these things are the same in principle: cash payouts.

1. Whe're at the stage of the hunter gather again. 2. Before agriculture, it is proposed that human's time was totally consumed with hunting and gethering. 3. Post agriculture people had /free/ time 4. They could spend time on anything they wanted. 5. This turned to capitalism where people could monetize their free time in any which way they wanted 6. Now, due to various factors, most people cannot monetize their time effectively; they must work 40+ hours a week to be able to have a minimal level of comfort. 7. Man has again become his hunter gather predecessor. 8. Man rises at 7 or 8 to get his train into town to sit in a chair for 8 - 9 hours then get a train home. All of his day's time and energy dedicated to ensure a roof, food, and basic comforts, and if he is lucky, enough to put away for a rainy day. 9. But now, most of man's time and energy, is spent on non-productive work 10. Some studies find white collar workers do 2.7 hours of real work a day, yet they demand all of our time and attention. 11. yet our drone jobs are supposed to give us meaning? 12. UBI will give people options to only work, for example 20 or 25 hours a week instead of 40 13. My drone job would be a lot more barably, and I would be a lot more productive during the time I'm there if it was only something I did for 3 days a week.

Even if they do 0 productive works, they will still be better off (personally and for the econonmy) not being dead or on the street. 21. People will over time become much more efficient and productive workers, even if they only work 25 hours a week (which most will work more), their productive output will increase, this is because with the increased freedom an safety net, people will be able to take risks to achieve their ikigai, their vocation where they will be the most productive. I don't know how to monetize this but the gains here for over all GDP output must be immense
