When did Americans decide to stop using "winter" and instead throw around the phrase "polar vortex" everywhere? Or is this only happening on twitter and in the media?
>"An Indiana town marshal braved the polar vortex to rescue a trapped horse from subzero temperatures with his neighbor's chainsaw."
The word appeared in the mouth of the mainstream media in 2014 during, you guess it, a particularly cold winter. Then the word completely vanished for 5 years until today because we have another particularly cold winter. If climate change is a long and stable steady decline then why are polar vortexes a convenient excuse that pop up every 5 years? Mystery.

When did forum posters decide to post nonsensical claims purely for their trolling value?
When did the academic system decide to take all that seriously?
When did the media decide to take academic credentials more seriously then actual peer review?
Don't blame America, kids.

Polar vortex is an actual thing. It generally exists near the poles, but sometimes shifts further south. They are not the same thing as winter.
This is exactly correct. I remember because Alaska had an unusually warm winter while the East Coast got hammered and that was the explanation we were given. Now on the other hand we’re having a completely normal cold and snowy winter this year though while the east coast and more of the lower 48 is getting hammered even harder so if you were to argue that it’s due to proportionality that’s indicative of a cooling trend.

Polar vortex's exist year round. People just don't talk about it because they usually sit on the poles.
it's gonna be shit always hated how everything in that zone was fucking pink, like fucking why?

It's more catastrophism from the fucking Yanks, any way to make a dollar, to run a scam. They're talking up the natural cooling phase of the sun into Armageddon to sell bibles and bullets like the cunts they are.

Classic WoW is gone forever and even if you could go back, it wouldn't be the same now. I don't think any MMO could ever feel to me now the way classic WoW felt to me then.

nothing ever feels the same, the best it could feel is if your nostalgia goes through the roof but it still wont be the same

Its just commonplace propaganda now since we cant let anything interfere with the global warming meme. Its been the coldest average january in like fucking forever in Toronto, so lets make some bullshit up. It was the whole reason they switch from global warming to climate change. Now everything is proof of nothing. Fucking brainwashed masses.

We used to call them an "Arctic Cold Front", but that wasn't scary enough for the news.

Get over it.

I think the average person is somewhat to very narcissistic and they’ve convinced themselves that they’re too highly educated to be fooled or deceived. They can’t accept it’s global warming is a meme because it would also mean accepting that they aren’t as smart as they’d like to believe they are.

Absolutely agree, we have somehow gotten to a point in our arrogance that we believe that 100 years of data is somehow indicative of the countless cycles we have had on a 5 billion year old planet despite ice ages, mass extinctions of entire species and carbon levels that were magnitudes of times higher. >inb4 ice core samples. The oldest ice core samples are supposedly 2.7 million years old from an isolated part of a planet that is 2000 times older than that. Literally 40 years ago people were talking about global cooling. Im just so sick of these maketing scams.
