I've been searching for faith recently and have lurked a bit in all the /christianity general/'s, but I've yet to make up my mind.
First: what bible do you reccomend and why? I'm looking for the closest to the original, but still dechiperable to a peasant like myself. I've read thru KJV since it's the most talked about on this board. Any objections against this one, if so, why? Which do you reccomend?
Second: Denominations, this one really rustles me.
I like the orthodox because they seem very true to the roots of christianity, no bullshit, very spiritual. However I'm turned off by the specific branching of it, like GREEK orthodox, or RUSSIAN orthodox. Is this a big deal? How hard is it for an "outsider" to fit in with all these "foreigners"?
Catholics, I love the holier than thou vibe, the aesthetics and how hard they praise it up. But at the same time it turns me off a bit. I think the church should be more modest, and I've heard alot about stupid shit they've done, and I feel they might be straying a bit from the path for their own gains. Any arguments to defend against these claims?
Protestants. I feel they're a justified reaction to catholics straying from the old path, and I'm not against man being able to have a personal relationship with God, without the need for a priest. However, protestantism has shown itself to be completely subjugated by SJW and PC bullshit, I need a church with integrity and I feel protestants are lost. Are there any hope for them? If so, how?
Feel free to discuss other questions aswell and help eachother out. Pagans please don't shitpost, you're very funny but I don't want a shitstorm itt please, I'm looking very hard for answers
