prc is getting strong , they will be the next dominant empire after the usa gets crumbled. Taiwan really has no choice,PRC WILL take over it,if not,USA will setup defensive and strategic weapons there,probably the parts are there already. It is this is 20ish days old which in geopolitics is old. Chinese mainlanders like Taiwan and admire their clean and high functioning society. Most know that communism doesn't work. They see Taiwanese as Chinese (which they are). On the other hand Taiwan is a puppet government and an agitator in the region. They are utterly interconnected with mainland in terms of trade. Slowly but surely Taiwan will reunify under mainland's terms as they are just a tiny island. If the USA civil war southern leaders were living on Cuba after the war claiming they're the real USA what would USA do? Its good to put things into a local context to avoid bias.
