The current people of the African and Asian part of the Mediterranean are not the same inhabitants from antiquity.
Originally the people of the Mediterranean were fair skinned but were darkened by the Arabic invasion.

And I'm saying you're being needlessly semantic (and not just for the pun). While at the same time trying to say it's better to delineate groups by actual ethnicity, of which Shemetic is not one.
