/SRG/ - Self Reliance General

Real talk time:

There's clearly increasing frustration among all of us on the right about our options on how to change the direction of western civilization. The mere act of being a functioning member of society and paying taxes is basically funding a war against us. Perhaps a more concrete solution to the parasitic relationship we have with our society involves fundamentally changing the white way of life, and realigning our priorities?

The current status quo is maintained by concentrating the nations power and wealth in urban centers, where the cost of maintaining a comfortable way of life is perpetually extracted out of you through taxes, finance, and other costs. All of that wealth is then used to perpetuate the degeneration of our society, and fund the tools of your enslavement. We are trapped in a self-reinforcing cycle. Political action may be great, but its unlikely to ever be more than a stop-gap for a real solution.

A more permanent change means detaching ourselves from the status quo. There are lessons to be learned from people today who live in more rural and tight-nit communities, or how our own great-grandparents may have lived just a century ago. Shed all the crap from your life that you don't need, and learn to rely on yourself. Learn practical skills that will make you more self reliant, instead of eating food that was picked by Guatemalans 300 miles away, make your own. Learn to be in charge of your own life. We got ourselves into this mess by constantly seeking comfort above all, choosing to move one more exit down the highway to escape the encroaching minorities, instead of addressing the problem head on.

So if we are to ride the tiger and what not, I propose we start seriously considering some pragmatic ways to do that. Network online or offline, form clubs, orgs, whatever it takes, as well as working on individual strength and self reliance.

Any of you have experience with extreme cold camping?

there is a youtuber by the name of Kenneth brown who basically lays out a philosophical framework that people can use to fundamentally change their life and realign priorities towards our survival.

If you had to evacuate and the gas stations were out of gas, how far could you get?
If you had to stay in place, how long could you last?
If the power went out on you today in the dead of winter, do you have a source of heat?

ill check it out, thanks

>If you had to evacuate and the gas stations were out of gas, how far could you get?
I have a 3-day bugout bag setup that I can stretch out to 6 days. With that, I can get about 66 miles on foot. Bicycle would dramatically increase that range.

>If you had to stay in place, how long could you last?
I have enough food and water saved up to last 1 month without going outside to get more.

>If the power went out on you today in the dead of winter, do you have a source of heat?
Nope, aside from burning the furniture in my apartment. That is probably enough to last 1 week.

probably better to make on /out/, jans will move this thread sadly. I will check later for a thread of this nature.

Most young right wingers don't have the resources to even begin to get an acre of land and be somewhat self sufficient.
For those stuck in that situation I'd say the best thing to learn is hunting and primitive backpacking/camping.
If you can't live off your own land you might as well learn how to live off nature.
It's fun, it's natural, and it will give you shit to talk about with normies (atleast the hiking, plenty of chicks love it). You will get in shape and you will get in touch with senses you didn't know you had. This is how your ancestors lived, honor them.
If shit goes down you will have the tools and knowledge to survive in the wild. Also hunters always make the best soldiers. Simo Hayha (greatest communist killer and sniper in history) attributed his skills to being a good hunter. Combine hunting skills with primitive camping/backpacking and you can be effective in virtually any shtf scenario. Put together 10 guys with these skills and you will be an effective fighting squad. Military training is preferable, but this is a damn good substitute. If shit doesn't go down you have some fun man toys and great experiences.

1. I have a bug out bag that could probably last me a week if I stretch it out. I can stay on my feet for a whole day and would go further on a bike.

2. Probably a month, I still need to get a butane stove in case of a n outage.

3. Nope

doing better than most. probably doing better than me as far as food and water. might want to consider a source of heat. i would say wood stove but your in an apartment. i'm not sure what that could be in an apartment. heavy blankets and clothes is a good start to keeping heat. maybe a mr. heater buddy-they have models that are supposed to be okay for indoor use. Might want to get a battery powered co2 alarm just in case.

I'd say it's very hard to be 100% self sufficient, but we all need to taking steps to get closer to that goal. A lot of folks today have a pet like mentality when it comes to the government taking care of them. Giving them food, water, shelter, heater, healthcare. You can ask the older generation, you need to be able to not be a burden and take care of yourself if it comes to it.

I do. You really want a wall tent for camping in groups, fitted with either a woodstove or diesel stove depending on the availability of firewood. A decent one can be had for around $1200 CDN.

Good idea, it's only a matter of time before any semblance of democracy and basic civility is dropped, we're going to have to find ways to work around the regular social and political order.

imagine pissing into a pond that cold and still.
watching the steam rise and the ripples expand. max comfy.

and watching he ripples slowly encompass the whole pond.

I totally agree with you.
My family only survived weimar republic and hyperinflation because we had an acre of land and were able to grow veggies and raise chickens. We also made schnapps for trade. It also came in handy post war on the black market. My family was able to consistently get gasoline after the war in Germany because of it (gasoline was the hardest commodity to get your hands on post war). Now that we're in weimerica we have a similar setup. Wells and food self sufficiency are the most important.
That being said I recognize that most of the guys I know (late 20s) don't have any property to speak of. Even my buddies that make good money are landless short of a few. They're paying off massive student loans and the cities they work in property prices are sky high. If you don't have any land you can't even begin to be self sufficient in terms of making your own food. What you can do is what I posted in my previous text.

The best way to win is through the pocket book. Minorities aggregate to cities. White should move out of cities, causing the tax base to collapse.

That's unlikely to happen in significant numbers though. I live in the core of a major city, and the whites are mostly shitlibs who like to live close to their jobs and have 5 starbucks locations within walking distance of their homes. The economy will probably keep chugging along until it breaks under its own weight.

But I under I understand what you're getting at. If a significant number of whites do that, that will cause problems for any city. Hopefully enough whites eventually realize that this rat race is getting them nowhere.

Just post some books and resources for us to increase our self reliance
I’m a wage cuck and a renter with little furniture so I really can’t help you there

Alone you won't survive long, you need a community with specialists.
>get a cavity
>cavity gets deeper and reaches pulp
>develop tooth infection
>die
I think having a small village in a very rural area is ideal.
>make a pact with different people: farmers/ex military/doctors/pharmacists/engineers/carpenters/etc.
>create a small community "summer getaway"
>build some houses
>hide guns/ammo/canned food/seeds/medicine in the village somewhere berried under ground
>come there every summer to practice drills
>barbecue and drink bear
>local government will think this is just some shitty summer thing for city fags
>shtf
>evacuate
>immediately dig up the stash
>ex military begin patrolling
>docs/nurses on standby
>farmers begin cultivating the soil and planting seeds
>engineers and carpenters get to building barns/clinic/pharma lab/school
>wives cook/watch children/

>If you had to evacuate and the gas stations were out of gas, how far could you get?
Sadly, i only have a Bicycle and my bug out bag is small so i wouldnt be able to carry enough suplies, i would say 69 miles

>If you had to stay in place, how long could you last?
3 Weeks from there, it will become constant travels to scavenge

>If the power went out on you today in the dead of winter, do you have a source of heat?
Fortunately, i have tons of stuff i can burn, Wood,Coal, Magazines, etc so yeah i could survive around another 3 weeks

The fingers definitely belong to a human mutate

>i would say 69 miles

I think you can do way better than that. A light pace on the bicycle is about 10 mph, so if you biked for 7 hours, you would travel 70 miles. Surely you have enough travel food to last more than 7 hours.

Yeah i could, You are right, my bad i dont actually did the math right, so i just writed what i think it would be my max

Assume I’m an out of shape fat but not obese guy in his mid 20s who has no fighting or survival skills, a shit diet and has lived in a city all his life. I hear everything you say in the OP and it makes a lot of sense and I’m interested. I know I need to sort myself out physically before I start down this road though. What is step 1 to creating a man physically capable of being self reliant? In a few years I will be a lawyer and have the financial means, but that doesn’t mean shit if I can’t cut it physically.

1. I just gassed up so about 300 miles, if this scenario doesn’t also assume the roads are fucked. If they are, so am I

2. Would run out of food in a week. Water is actually covered for a long time because I’ve been spoiled by the water back home and buy distilled water bc the water here tastes like its 90% chlorine.

3. Lots of blankets and a layer of fat lol.

you can get a filter and fix that. will probably save you money in the long run.
