I'm not sure where you got that rose-tinted story from. He did work in acquisitions but by no means did he do anything other than what was demanded out of him by (((Goldman))). In fact, he became their vice president. You don't get that high up without selling your soul.
He could have stayed in the White House if he wanted, but he jumped ship after losing faith in Trump. He wants to project more capability than he really has, he would have been wholly unable to move anything in Washington aside from dumping taxpayer dollars to his allies like every other neocon.

Irrelevant at this point, but I think he infiltrated Trump's administration at the beginning of POTUS' term. Kushner is odd, but incredibly intelligent. One of Kushner's main tasks during the first stretch of the term was to watch and flag people that could be a threat.
One rule of thumb is tool look at a person's earlobes. Bad guys tend to be cloned a lot and for some reason the earlobes get messed up after the cloning, but not very noticeable unless you know what to look for from the get-go.
