- For starters, participation is entirely voluntary, nothing is enforced.
- The organization is run with total compassion and empathy.

Socialism actually can be implemented within a religious community. People can serve the greater good as long as they are being supervised and rewarded by God. Religious faith allows communities to behave selfishly but for selfish reasons (heavenly rewards and community prestige). That makes a commune much easier to implement.
But secular, state sanctioned socialism enforced on a diverse, multicultural, multifaith society is bound to fail because the line that defines the "greater good" is nothing but arbitrary rhetoric, and without a scriptural or doctrinal basis to ground your definitions, it becomes nothing but a powergrab for the most deceptive people capable of justifying why THEY deserve the bulk of the collective's assistance.

They talk about nihilism and moral relativism and how it renders Christian faith impotent, but then they turn right around and say they use "Common sense" to "just be good people".
