Everybody I know says the early 2000s ones are great, especially the s. I test drove a 01s and didn't feel any issues with the steering. I can't speak to the new flat 4 cars, or even the 2ng gen flat 6 cars.

Make a car v6 turbo 250-300hp. (Enough to overcome the weight of the batteries) Mate it to a 100 hp electric engine not designed for efficiency but raw performance. (This of course could be changed with engine manegment protocal and variable valve timeing. Even the priuses modified cycle for greater efficieny)

Put it to a transaxle mid mounted 45/55 rear weight bias car.

Make the ride height 50 inches or lower. Make it look sexy. Design the resonance in the tailpipes to howl. It would be awesome. No one would buy it.

But it would be a monster that beats porshes and gets 40+mpg when your careful and is affordable.

Drive a vintage volvo. Most reliable and safe. Very easy to work on and if you put some work into the engine they can be fast

You either buy a Toyota or a Honda, those cars are basically indestructible.

If you want to step it up a notch, get a Mercedes, the E-Class should be the highest you should go. Anything higher than that is overkill. These cars are basically indestructible and have very good value and can last for 300,000KM or even more.

Electrics go shit after a bit and are expensive to sort. Parked up once, locked the car and heard the rear window slowly wind down. Had to take out the fuses in the end. One by one as all the windows failed.

I drive a ford focus, but I like How Nissan treats their customers and how they didn't sign that petition from automakers 3 or 4 years ago about how new cars should be illegal to work on by non certified professionals by stating that cars could be hacked into performing unlike how they were meant to perform because they were so computerized now. Honda also didn't sign the petition, so they have my respect.

That said I know nothing about working on cars other than replacing a flat tire. I need to get more familiar with my focus.

Can confirm, wife's P85 spent months getting the panels sorted. Kind of a fun car be great when they figure out how to assemble them properly. Reminds me of P38 gen Range Rovers in a lot of ways.

Old manuals have tons of problems.
Age, no anti lock, poor engine power and efficiency, no engine manegment, no abs, no overhead cams, no- variable valve timeing, usually 2 valves sometimes 4, no electronic steering assist, some dont have power steering, and many have design flaws which mean constant work, push rods. Fucking carbs.......

All that shit is sorted on a new car. Direct fuel injection. Timing chains, 4 valves, a/f ratio sensors, higher combustion, better metulargy, traction control, anti-lock, turbo chargers, egr valves, catelitic converters, and check engine lights.

And its all easy to do. A modern 4 cyp engine can easily push 200 bhp and give 35-40 mpg highway.

You dont have to piss fuel out the tailpipe.

the 981s are dope im on my 3ed porsche and its my favorite so far.
