I have read and own every book by Ayn Rand and Leonard Peikoff. I used to be a devout objectivist and firm believe in the epistemology. The dangerous thing about her philosophy is the same thing that makes Scientology dangerous: it gives you the illusion of choice. It appeals to your logos by telling you not to follow it as dogma, and at the same time uses that same logos to create a dogmatic following. There's a reason why Atlas Shrugged is one of the highest selling books of all time. I was fortunate to break out of the objectivist mentality but still find it's application useful, especially when defeating my own prejudice and bias.

TL;DR: It trapped me but also freed me once I developed a higher level of objective thought beyond what I thought Ayn Rand even had.
