Becoming a Tattoo Artist

Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I don't know the first thing about becoming a tattoo artist and I don't have any tattoos, but I am pretty good at drawing and I think tattoos are a really good job for improving artistic skill and getting paid for doing it.

I’d never let you touch me.

Dog you make it sound like you want to practice your art on people.

literally ALL practice

Obviously getting tats is the first step- nobody in their right mind would trust a tattoo artist who hasn't got any of their own. I'm more interested in the process afterwards. I've heard there is a lot of hazing involved.

Even if I wanted to, I don't think that's how it works. It just seems like a pretty solid way to get constant practice and get paid for it.

You really have no idea how little drawing is involved in tattoo work do you? Most of it is predrawn shit you just trace onto your template. The rest is text, usually not creative text either.

What the fuck? So any hack can become a tattoo artist as long as they have tattoos?

>Most of it is predrawn shit you just trace onto your template. The rest is text, usually not creative text either.
lmfao, nice bait desu

It’s really not hard.

In actual practice, yes this is the case. Occasionally you get asked for custom shit. Most of the people who ask for this stop when they hear the price tag. Tats are not for people with money. So you get a lot of stuff out of the book.

It's not about the tracing, but the style. HERE IS A suggestion. Go to a butcher. Get a ham Leg(full pig leg) and try first on it and see how it comes out.

that depens entirely on the type of tattoo artist you are
do you actually have tattoos? cus youre fucking clueless

Suck my dick. This guy is a newbie that hasn’t even been in a tattoo shop. He’s gonna be doing the most basic shit.

Try using what? Sharpies?

OMG! He has no idea what he is doing......dude go home, you talentless.

well no shit
that doesn't mean he won't improve and choose his style over the years

He won’t do shit. Tattoo artistry is a dead-end shit job for people who can’t do real work.

tell that to the tattoo artists doing a single $2000 tattoo per day

Which ones do this? How do you even get to make this much money off of tattooing?

No shit I have no idea, that's why I'm asking for advice here. You clearly seem to know a lot, so please tell me what tools I need to start practicing on a ham leg.
