This. Here in Brazil, if I see someone with a brand new car and it isn't a supercar-tier motherfucker I just pity the fool. I bought an used Land Rover Defender 90 for a very good price a few years ago and the car is just unbreakable. I manhandle it on mud and sand trails every ~6 months and no serious maintenance was ever needed.
Granted, it's ugly as sin but tbqh if you're looking for comfiness instead of function you're better off with a Range Rover (which apparently seem to break a lot, specially the Evoque models)

Another reason is that ex-fleet XFs are finally reaching equitable second-hand value. Why buy a new one when you can get one just as good for 1/6th the price.
