I've come to understand that most of what we worry girls think about is actually a matter of what we value ourselves. Like I know intellectually that many girls don't like buff guys or rich guys or "manly" guy, but I have a vision of who I want to be and being attractive is secondary to that.

I feel the same way but its not about money but health. Im 27 kinda fit and earn ~2200euro a month but i have typ1 diabetis since i was a kid and i got allergic against gluten about 10years ago. I really dislike going out to eat and i work a lot about 10-12 hours daily which leaves my completly tired most of the days. I cant see how i can compete with healthy man when it comes to women and i always felt like a worse version of who i could be.

This. I think people get too caught up in the dynamics of "gold diggers". No not all women are gold diggers but having a stable job with a decent income is a bare minimum for a lot of women.

I'm in my late 20s now and I have more opportunities than I did in my teens and early 20s with women. However I've come to the sad realization that the reason a lot of women weren't dating me when I was younger was because they were seeing older men with money.

It's not that every women is looking for a rich man but if you want to have fun you at least need some money. Want to travel? Need money. Want to buy concert tickets? Need money.

It's a sad fact of life I'm afraid. Yeah I don't think all women are just trying marry you for your wallet but if you want to travel, have fun, and do stuff money is going to be key to all of that. That's not really something you can do when you're young, broke, and don't have rich parents which is why girls typically go after older guys.
