Guys i need help. How can i get my router to reset or change the wan (public ip) without access to it and without the password and username which are custom? Can i ddoss the modem into reseting giving it a chance of an ip change?
Guys i need help...
leave it unplugged overnight. also, get a vpn, retard.
>not providing the model
>not having access to the device
Go cut the wire to the outside, start preparing a splice, cut power to your house, turn it back on, splice wire. Presto.
slip your dick thru a wad of cotton that should get your router to reset it
I live in a share house so i dont have access to the modem at all. Its locked away somewhere. Is it even possible for me to change the ip?
See its a university share house and i may have been banned on 4channel (not Jow Forums so its not ban evasion as the bans are now seperate) for posting about jews.
Now everyone in the house who uses Jow Forums can see my anti jewish post lol.
Im gonna get expelled
Just deny it. You were posting anonymous I'm sure. Change your IP and play stupid. When does the ban expire?
Go to your circuit breaker and reset the power.
Lasts like 5 days. Reset my internal ip? I think thats all i can do without access to the modem or cutting the power like suggested but i’m not sure if it would work hmm
Depends if your IP is static or dynamic. Shut the power switch where the router is for 5-10 seconds then flip back on. If is dynamic then the IP address should reset.
I guess just denying it is the best course of action. Im hoping nobody else in the house uses Jow Forums
Also to do risk assessment go to the internet plans of your provider and see which one your university house probably has. Then see whether or not mentions "Dynamic IP" or not.
if someone else in the house tried posting would they suspect it was you specifically? if there are people there all time it could have been a guest you know.
I’ll try this. Im not sure where the circuit box is though i guess it’ll be some solid snake shit
There arent others here often and the other students here are mostly chinese no whites except me. They may assume its me.
I could technically deny it, i dont think they have a way to pin it on me. But fuck. I’m hoping nobody gives browses Jow Forums or gives a shit but it’s pretty hardcore if they do.
If it's your router, push the pin in with a pen that resets it to factory default. you will then be able to access the config with the default credentials, usually located on a sticker on the back of the router.
Hardcore bad situation i mean. Anxietyposting lol
You don’t have access to the WAN ip, they are given to you upstream by your ISP.
Yeah i dont have physical access to the place the modem is. I also dont have the login password or username and theyre custom so the defaults dont work unfortunately
>people of color
It should say people of cotton because that's the handsign of picking cotton
Yeah but a reset provides the chance of a change right? It’d be great if it was possible to turn off the modem somehow without sneaking out and disabling the power in the power box. Looks like thats what im gonna have to do though
Can also post your IP address on hackforums and request they ddos the ever living shit out of you paying them something like $10 on paypal
call your isp. they'll change it for you
I just checked its more like 3 days. I can probably ride it out and hope nobody here uses Jow Forums and deny it or say it was a russian hacker or something if i cant reset power somehow
By standard the device is going to get the same address it had before if it is still an available address in the DHCP pool. On networks with high transiency you might get a new one after five seconds, but that's not entirely guaranteed. You may have to go off for longer. If your IP is reserved for your MAC, you're going to have to change the address. Without access to the routing device MAC spoofing is going to be a bit more difficult. Add in a UN/PW combo, and you're going to have to actually hack the device to make the requisite changes. Maybe find a different router and plug in there with hardware you own.
